We truly were spoiled with this era of Death Metal, so many excellent riffs. Death will always be my favourite band but you cannot deny how great these bands were. The atmosphere they convey is something entirely different to the modern day death metal. Excellent playing by the way!
@pablogonzalez40444 жыл бұрын
its a shame that all new death metal bands are more obsessed with guitar acrobatics and spider hand riffs than actually writing a memorable riff.
@@pablogonzalez4044 I think it’s more because they can’t switch between riffs and sections effectively and with breathing room to allow it to sound memorable or different. When the entire song is the fastest blast beats and fast sweep picking with the craziest lowest growls possible, it gets lost in the mix. Some bands pull it off like archspire and necrophagist but everyone else just gets swept away. Even then necrophagist and archspire add breathing room with bridges and certain bits whilst other bands just assault your ears. Again there are bands that can even pull that off but they have actually good musicians who understand how to make it interesting and memorable, your average death metal band doesn’t lol

Brilliant :) One cool story, a good friend of mine (Harald/Demonaz) were touring with Immortal back in the days as support for Morbid Angel, and Harald bought the guitar module Trey was using, it is the same as he used on the Altars Of Madness sessions. Harald used this one as well one the third Immortal album 'Blizzard Beasts'. With almost the same settings as trey, but with some minor tweaking. GREAT. I've seen most of the DM bands here live in Germany when I was aroud 16/17. It shows me that your have pretty much rhe same taste in extreme music than me. Keep it!
