You know this is one of the few videos I’ve found where someone actually shows the install for lighting. Thank you so much! Idk if I’ll get a magnum but a headache rack with brake and reverse lights is something I’ve contemplated for some time. Truck looks great, good job!

Would buy them both again in a heartbeat. Can't live without the toolbox in my opinion and the rack has come in handy numerous times moving ladders and kayaks.

Why didn't you leave the bedliner in and just custom fit the rack and tool box that way your bed and rails are still protected. I did this to three of my trucks looks great and gives bed protection???

What exactly is the use of a headache rack except the pretty looking back up light and brake lights
@TheSundaeDrive Жыл бұрын
Extra light going backwards and protects the back of the cab. I've offered had wood, ladders, kayaks, etc secured to it as well
@wfhllc4405Ай бұрын
After installing this rack, I noted the white lights on the headache rack, only illuminate when you shift the truck into R, or when you unlock the truck via the key fob. So right now they only function as reverse lights, instead of having the option to illuminate the bed at night at-will. Hoping someone will post a how-to mod on this, as this is unfortunately above my skill-level.

Is the harnest that runs from the trailer hookup to the harnest out of the rack included when they send you the rack or do you have to buy it. The one that runs under the whole bed?

Hoping you'll see this since it's been awhile since you created this video... Which rack model did you go with? The low pro or high pro Magnum rack. Looks like it's the low pro /sports rack. Why did you choose the style you did? Would the high pro rack reveal the lights on the back of the cab? Thank you for a great video. I am looking at a Magnum headache rack for my '15 Silverado and this makes my decision a bit easier. Thank you for your input on the toolbox as well.
@TheSundaeDrive2 жыл бұрын
It's the low pro. I don't carry a ton on the rack and I thought it looked less like a work truck than the high pro. You may see the 3rd break light through the high pro but I'm not entirely sure.

The Rack seems to block your 3rd Brake light and cargo/bed light. I see the fix for the brake lamp but what about the cargo lamp?
@TheSundaeDrive6 жыл бұрын
The rack includes reverse and brake lights. The only annoying thing is when I activate my bed lights, only the lights in the rails are visible. I am planning to add a light bar to the rack that faces the bed which taps into my light controller for the bed lights or I am going to tap the headache rack reverse lights into my light controller. There are a lot of solutions.

What are your feelings on that Weatherguard tool box? I am in the market and between the full size and low profile.
@TheSundaeDrive7 жыл бұрын
skibumy206 I read a lot of reviews before purchasing mine and weatherguard seemed to the highest quality toolbox available. I love it so far. I bought it a few years used and I've had it for about 8 months It has held up great. I never have to worry about my tools getting wet. The only negative is really a negative against every type of truck tool box, that being that the locks can be picked easily. But any lock is really only a deterrent anyways. I would definitely recommend a weatherguard.

If the low profile has a thinner lid, it would be able to sit closer to the Headache Rack so you won't lose as much bed space. I'm not sure if it has a thinner lid or not but just something to keep in mind.
@skibumy2067 жыл бұрын
The low profile has a thinner top piece that sits on the truck rails, all in all its about a three inch difference in height from the rail to top of box. 15 inch overall height. Only difference is in the Low profile is that the locks/release buttons are located on the front of the box basically inside the bed, see attached www.weatherguard.com/en/view/Products/Truck%20Tool%20Boxes%20%20Equipment/Boxes/Saddle%20Box/121-52-01

Why did you position the toolbox the way you did? There shouldn't be that much of a gap in the front

A pre-existing hole lined up there. There is only about an inch of space between the box and rack when I open it so I was ok with it.
@diamondheat94 жыл бұрын
Can't get too close because the weatherguard has a THICK lid so would have a noticeable gap to clear the headache rack when opening the tool box.

Oh there are plenty of imperfections on the truck and it they don't bother me like they would with my camaro.
