Happy 2025 Matt! It sure is a good song and a real head bobber. I know I used the beginning portion of it in the 10k sub special, but I liked the rest of the song so I figured it'd be good for the montage.

However, I noticed that this montage is shorter than the rest. Was that on purpose to keep the video at a manageable duration or did you get rid of a lot of fans?

Mostly the first reason you mentioned! I still have nearly all of the fans shown in previous years’ montages. I was a bit behind schedule this year with preparing for this video, so I didn’t have time to film nearly as many fans lol. But I figured with the number of fans in the collection growing each year, I could take this year to dial back a little on the video length.

Good choice! I imagine the No Music Edition to be of a manageable length this year. But whoo! Who would've expected 2025 to come so soon? I still remember the time I watched your 2017 Fan Collection montage as a kid so vividly like yesterday.

wow wow wow the video was so good but i think in winter time where you live but me just relax in summer time in australian but i shock that you have two dyson fans now but i have 3 dyson desk fan and one Dyson stand fan since 2011 but i have so much normal traditional fan idk why I have much fan but I just love the fans and happy new year

This was awesome, Just was wondering as to why the No Music edition was an extra 20 mins longer lol. These videos keep getting better and better!

Thanks! The No Music Edition is longer for a better experience listening to the fans themselves. It also allows more time for ceiling fans to get up to speed, oscillating fans to sweep back and forth at least a few times, etc. Whereas this version with the music is intended to be more of a summarized recap of the yearly collection.

Happy 2025!! The Super Safe and the Élan are actually old models and were discontinued. The Élan sure is a weird one though lol. The blades are surprisingly rigid despite the lack of a grille.

Yo, I have a question, I just got a windmere df12 desk fan and it won't run unless you give it a kickstart but the funny thing is I oiled the motor and gave it a new capacitor but it still won't run unless you kickstart it

Sounds like something is binding; maybe the bearings are badly worn out so the rotor is contacting the stator. Does the motor shaft have any up-down play?

Have you aligned the bearings by tapping the motor shaft? If the blades aren’t turning smoothly by hand, something in the motor or the oscillator gearbox must be binding.

Just saw the video you posted. The fact that the fan behaves the same way with and without the capacitor tells me that there is likely is a disconnection in the capacitor circuit inside the motor. I’ve noticed that those motors (same as the one in my 16” Windmere) aren’t built the best so there could be a break in the windings somewhere that developed from age and heat cycling. I’d try another capacitor like you mentioned, but if that doesn’t work, it might be a good idea to investigate the internals of the motor.
