@TheSuperFanMan8 сағат бұрын
True, it seems like Casablanca has discontinued all of their classics in favour of modern designs. The white Four Seaons III does look nice too. I like that the "swept-back" motor vent design stands out more on the white fan.

Do you know how to remove the fan blades?
@TheSuperFanMan9 сағат бұрын
The metal retainer ring in the middle of the blades need to removed first. It's a bit tricky, but with a small flathead screwdriver, it can be wiggled out. Then the bladeset pulls straight off of the shaft.
@Yize_goose8 сағат бұрын
@@TheSuperFanMan Thanks, I got one for the low price of $30. I need to renovate and clean it. The fan blades are so dirty and full of dust.
@sivaranjanis596Күн бұрын
The date code of early Casablanca fans is usually inside the motor housing on the motor cover. If this is a pre - recall fan, then it is confirmed to utilise the hang - tru. I do miss the Original, it deserved to be there longer, but even things we love become monotonous after awhile. The Four Seasons II and III are pretty builder fan - like. I feel it's a very unpleasant contrast to the first gen early 70s Inteli•Touch ones. However, it's still a good fan, moves air and serves well. Ensure to take a video clip of it before taking it down for the BIG Fan Collection Montage.
@TheSuperFanMan9 сағат бұрын
You know me too well; I already took the video clips of the Orignal and the Four Seasons for the montage! I'll definitely check the motor cover when I open it to clean out the dust (haven't done that yet). I also liked the Original but I do have to swap the ceiling fans out from time to time if I want to enjoy using all of my fans lol. I very much agree about the contrast. The II and III were big downgrades from the I.
@jamesroach21492 күн бұрын
Thanks for that. I have an old Lasko fan, and I got stalled at removing the fan. That helped. My fan stopped spinning, barely making an effort. This took care of it. FYI, my fan has bushings, not bearings - a little cleaning and light oil got it up and running.
@TheSuperFanMan9 сағат бұрын
No problem! I’m glad it was helpful. Sometimes I use both terms “bushing” and “bearing” synonymously for sleeve bearings. I guess I should try to be more consistent with my terminology lol

@@TheSuperFanMan No worries - I figured it out. That fan runs 24/7 in the heating season blowing on the woodstove (I am in Michigan, where it can get quite nippy). Fan is quite old, and now it runs like new. Probably will cut down the electric bill - I run two duct fans to bring cold air from upstairs to the basement where the the woodstove is, in addition to the Lasko fan. We will see next time I get the bill. But, anyways, thank you for your video, which was very helpful. Before I took a shot of fixing it, I ordered a new fan. Canceled the order after getting this one up and running.

Do you ever plan on adding vintage European fans to your collection? You can use them here in the US or Canada with a 120 to 220 voltage converter. I have a fan from the former Soviet Union that works perfectly here with a voltage converter.

Hello my joven amigo. Dirty rotor will slow down the motor? I mean a little dirt in the rotor surface.
@TheSuperFanMan9 сағат бұрын
Hi! A little bit of dirt or rust on the rotor won't affect the fan's operation. If it's excessive, it may reduce the fan's efficiency. Worst case scenario, the dirt or rust could bind the rotor against the stator, inhibiting rotation. But it can easily be fixed by cleaning the rotor surface.

If i get one of these, can i run it while i sleep? When i restore it all the way make it sparkle? Can it run all night? Or is that not safe?
@TheSuperFanMan3 күн бұрын
Technically any electric fan is safe to run overnight as long as it’s in good condition. With any used fan, it’s not always easy to tell its condition and how well or not-so-well it was treated. I would say inspect your fan and test run it under supervision for a while before determining if it can handle continuous use.

Thanks for the montage! Some of those take me back to yesteryear! Over the summer, we bought a couple Dreo dc fans - a tower and the biggest tabletop. Love them! Along with a couple other dc fans that are really good and quiet. Recently, I got a couple sales on two other brands of dc pedestal fans that are very good and quiet. So, for NOW, haha, I think I'm good on replacing our old, loud fans. Can't wait for summer, that's a first, LOL!

Hey, I gotta say that was some real soothing experience. Listening to the varied sounds of fans ranging from white noise, buzz, hum, tick to the ROAR of the Patton...there's nothing better. A few opinions of mine are: 1. The Caframo Super Safe fan is louder than I expected. 2. The Leader Industrial Pedestal Fan sounds just amazing. 3. The newly paired Sears 12" and Sanyo 12" oscillating fans look great together. Couple clarifications: 1. Why did you set the 16" Mastercraft (Sanyo made) Pedestal Fan to medium instead of high? 2. Where is the Windmere 16" fan? I thought you just left the lesser important fans out, not an iconic one like that!

Thanks! The Super Safe has thinner, more plastic-y blades than the newer Chinook, so I think that's why it generates a louder whir. The Leader sure is a beast! I also love the sound and how abruptly it gets up to speed. I set the Mastercraft to medium because I was worried that it would blow things around my room on high lol. I had lots of loose paper and Christmas decorations on my desk and shelves. The 16" Windmere went to a new home last year. It was a good fan but I rarely used it due its large size, so I ultimately decided to let it go. I didn't realize how iconic it was 😅.

The reason why is the gears don’t really have enough grease or os due to wear and tear on the motor coils, so when the gears are pushing together for the oscillator, it kind of puts a ton of friction on the motor, pushing two different things all at once, slowing the fan blades down to make the oscillator move
