@@RockinProfessor Yes I was. We were called the "Dominations". Our lead guitar player sounded alot like this with heaps of reverb. His uncle was Dick Dale and set him up with a very cool Fender Bassman bottom just like he used. That was in 1964. Then we morphed into a Beatle cover band later in the LA band wars.

It's not hard to get that sound. It's actually a standard sound, I believe you can get it on any setup. bridge pickup, clean setting on high gain and full on reverb. done

They definitely have the "feel" of surf music. There are a lot of groups playing it...but they miss that hard-to-identify inspiration that shows they really "get" the music. I only wish they'd played the Asbury Park Surf Music Festival. They were there, but they played their gig the next night, darn it!
