Stop forcing useless new tech in the new cars! Most people just want a simple & reliable car going from Point A to Point B. Making car too complicated & too expensive to buy & maintain is just poor business for everyone!
@mamadouaziza2536Күн бұрын
I agree with you.. However, it's consumer demand for new tech that drives sales. I have seen people walk away from a good car because the car didn't have 'wireless' Apple CarPlay. LOL. People want all the latest tech and luxury but are unwillingly to pay for it. They want dual climate controls in the front seats, cool and heated seats, self driving options and endless cameras on the car. The mechanic junkies want air suspension etc.. The car manufacturers want to remain competitive, so they add all this tech to their cars. The average Toyota Corolla is now at nearly $30k. I remember 10 years ago that a Corolla started at $12k. There are still basic cars out there like the Nissan Versa but no one wants it...

I wonder if it's not the car manufacturers failure to deliver quality when it's forced to comply with certain government mandates that cause these problems. For example: You could buy a Toyota and feel you could drive those forever without any problems. Now they have problems. Could that be the problem the government. And as how hard these car companies try to deliver to keep up with government mandates is getting their shorts handed to them.
@filoniz16 сағат бұрын
No, I think it is tech in general. Back in the 2000s or late 1990s, you would not have heard of recalls or half-baked inventions being sold only to be recalled or need a new update. There was just better quality control before they were released into the market.
@foxxster356515 сағат бұрын
That is certainly part of the issue. DPF issues on diesels for example. Also much of this tech like lane keep assist and the new speed warnings are required either by various government mandates eg the EU and or are required in order to achieve the 5 star safety ratings. So yes governments mandates including emission mandates that require smaller turbo engines under high stress do indeed contribute to unreliable vehicles. The speed of change of those mandates also plays a part not allowing manufacturers to bed in new engines , tech etc.

I own a 17-year-old Toyota Sequoia with 300km on the odometer. Maintenance costs are normal. Reliability is abnormal. It's a dream car. Its value and reliability are confirmed by ISIS, Hezbollah, and the Taliban. I bought it 8 years ago at 240km for $4,000. Today it's worth double. I've only changed the oil, wiper blades, and tires. Always look to Toyota first. Trust me.

Car manufacturers have got to the those prices down but sh*tcanning the unneeded technology that is cool but not necessary and generally not wanted. When all that techno stuff quits working you''ll have a vehicle that you can't start or at least can't drive. Reliability goes to hell.
