Rail Pass do you have an access to the Lounge, Magnolia room, etc??? I thought the Rail Pass is coach only.

Amtrak Guest Rewards members that have enough points to earn Amtrak Select level have access to the lounges. Our travel over the last 15 months allowed us to get Amtrak Select and gave us access to the lounges.

How expensive is the Amtrak meals

For coach passengers, the costs are: $20 for breakfast. $25 for 2-course lunch. $45 for a 3-course dinner. $20 for all kids meals. The meals are included for sleeper car passengers.

499, was that for the entire trip, no matter how many stopss or per segment

499 was for 10 segments. A segment is counted each time you board and get off a train. For example, NY to Chicago is one segment. Chicago to La Plata was one segment.
