Looking at this interview, I feel having a product sense has to very innate within you to become a good PM. Even if one learns to structure something, and if that inherent quality is missing, it wont be effective. I mean, corrrect me if I am wrong.

Yo! I have also been thinking on these line for a while even before I watched this video. I watched a couple of mock videos and felt it has to be innate else it will feel fake. And sone of these interviews felt kinda fake to me

So in these kind of interviews can I start solutioning with the user flow itself. What I mean is when you asked to provide solution first thing that came to my head was a blind person standing outside the ATM . And I imagined whole scenario right from walking inside the door & then navigate themselves inside till the ATM . Basically reimagined myself as if I am navigating as a blind person , which helped to identify pain points and possible solutions easily and as soon as I reached near ATM I felt where should I enter the card (same as you said). For solution I felt voice alone won't be of that help. The info that we can give with the touch will be huge and audio on top it will be very effective. Since blind people tend to touch stuff to get the understanding of the surroundings(because if we go in a dark room we will first try to get hold of things and voice will be only helpful if someone is watching me and telling not to go here and there). So just audio like some kind of unique sound can be created just where the card needs to be inserted which they can recognize and navigate too. And all these features can be initiated on the click of a button on the ATMs body. So basically I wanted to ask that is this approach of explaining solution or even at times the pain points helpful. Meaning it will be like a journey for the interviewer too so will they expect a more structured way of answer or navigating them in this way will be more effective. I feel the second one because generally its more about understanding our users and adding our bit of "yaar iska kuch karna padega😁" vala feeling

Thank you so much for this video. I am an aspiring product manager but did not come from an engineering background nor did an MBA. I have a masters in commerce. However I've noticed companies usually hire people coming from tech background or an MBA. Could you please help me out if there's a scope for others or enrolling in an MBA is the only option? I'd be grateful if you share some insight.

I believe having a tech background is a plus but not required. There are other ways in which someone who doesn't have any background in tech or product can still get in product. I have explained 3 such techniques in this video (How to get product manager job with no experience) on my channel: kzbin.info/www/bejne/fqGcgnR6adCNeZYsi=20VRNKL8Bvtd1caC I hope that helps.

You can talk about what you do to keep yourself updated with current technologies. If there are any journals, apps (like product hunt) or podcasts (like Lex friedman) that you listen/read about. Basically anything that can give the interviewer an understanding of your interests. I will be posting more of these on my channel too, soon.
