Theta Z1 vs Insta 360 x3 for Zillow 3d home tours

Just the video I was looking for...thank you. I have the Theta Z1 but was curious about the Insta X3 based on recommendations from Matterport. Glad to know that my trusty Z1 still reigns supreme. The difference in the grain from the ISO is crazy.

You can really tell in that last screen capture it’s much better with the Z1, great walkthrough of the two cameras in the field

Have you used the X3 for Matterport? I just broke my Theta Z1 and am looking to replace it with the X3 (less than half the price) if it does an acceptable job.

While I own 3 Z1's ~ The Theta X is my darling for Zillow tours and it has a card slot and swappable batteries

Can I ask why you like the x for zillow tours vs the z1? I hear you on card slot and batteries, but aside from that would be better choice for a real estate agent to use for youtube 360 tours, but also 360 neighborhood videos and overall easier to use? I'll be using it for zillow but also for all kinds of other 360 video content. Just curious what you think.

@dansellsdfw hi Dan. I prefer the z1. It’s performed far better. Bigger sensor and more manual options.

No but currently none of the theta cameras have manual control so the results from the 1” would still be poor due to the auto iso which will be way to high.

Last time I tried automatic was the only setting available. Only the theta z1 has full manual settings.

Honestly seeing the last slides, it doesn't convince me that Theta Z1 is so much better. I had Z1 for a while then it doesn't take photos anymore, and their support in USA stinks. You pretty much have to pay new price to repair it while they most of the time just send you a new one. Insta is a lot more reasonable and the scans are close enough. Let's face it, neither takes that great of photos, they both get horrible color cast without AI functions of fixing white balance from daylight to incandescent / warm LED 2700K lights.
