Same here, i live in Baton Rouge, my friend lives in Santa Ana, also go to Huntington Beach, was in Dana Point i felt the 1000 steps up, but last time I rented 4runner and went to Thomas Mountain, then Big Bear, then CA-2, then connected to hwy 27 over Topanga back to hwy 1, it's such joy to not drive flat I-10 to Houston for change, lol

Amazed at how clean and well maintained these areas look. This is in complete contrast to when I was driving along the south coast roads in the UK which had traffic jams, roadworks, narrow roads and litter. Never again.

That's because it's one of the most affluent areas of California and the entire US. You will find plenty of potholes, traffic jams, roadworks, homeless people and trash in many other places, especially in and around LA.

This area is a mega wealthy community, hence the cleanliness. Sad they don’t care for all communities in the same manner. I live in Southern California and their are many unkept communities. ✌🏻✌🏻

@@oceanlover3530 in that case I must have driven thru huge distances of deprived areas on the south coast of England. All I saw were roadworks, litter, potholes, traffic jams, and narrow roads. Never again.

I love OC but can't afford to live there lol.. Live in LA county my whole life. Even then, I hardly spend time here. I mostly go to OC to eat and shop and recreation. Love the OC vibe as it aligns with my own which is super laid back and genuine friendliness. LA is not that...

I lived in HB for a few years in the early 90's. Great beach city. I use to do a weekly bike ride from HB to NB and back on the beach bike path. Beautiful ride. Watching your video really makes me miss living there.

I drove from the start of 2nd Street in LongBeach to PCH and drove from that point all the way until PCH ended somewhere Laguna Hills! It was a BEAUTIFUL drive on an exceptional SoCal day!

Have been driving PCH, LA to Newport Beach lately since I discovered this nice alternative. Definitely worth the extra 45 min drive. A blessing to have beautiful OC not too far from shit-hole LA County

I know what you mean! Parts of LA are sooo ugly (un-esthetic-ly pleasing?!) My Mom was born and raised around Montebello and Whittier, and she always hated driving there to visit! And once you accidentally get off the freeway in parts of LA, you cannot figure out how to get back on! The logical place for an on-ramp just isn’t to be seen!

Only thing I hate about OC are the cul-de-sacs which are everywhere. Residential streets don't follow a simple grid like pattern like many cities in LA county. I love the wide thoroughfares and general cleanliness of OC though. Homeless population isn't as visible and out of control like LA.

Agreed! OC is the anthesis of LA in every positive way. The streets are wider, the people are more normal, the scenery is breathtaking, even the politics are different. There is a small number of homeless people, more likened to the national average, MUCH less than LA, SD, or SF for sure! Conservatives have zero tolerance for that crap! It’s actually pretty fascinating that these 2 counties boarder each other.

Berkant Tahirov - Lived here for years! Drove this exact route, instead of the freeway, for 5 years of one employment! Every day I thanked the lord for letting me live in "gods country!" Perpetual beauty and sunshine! The only downside is that you have to make a very decent living as "paradise" is expensive!

I drove from Oxnard to Laguna Beach I took PHC it was a good trip for me It wasn't a bad drive for me and I love to make that trip.
