Life tip: If you find shorts on your recommended page on a mobile device, don't click on the short, click on the 3 circle icon in the corner of a short, and click "Do not recommend". Do this for every short there is in that lineup. Keep going until they're all gone. There will be about 12 or 15. Once you do this for all of them, they will not get recommended to you anymore. They might show up again in a few months, but you can do it again when that happens.

KZbin shorts feels so "mindless" to me - It's clunky and awkward to interact with the platform or leave comments, and if you miss something in the video, you have to sit there and rewatch the whole thing again. They get away with it because shorts are, well, short. But it feels like I'm encouraged to stare unblinkingly at the screen in case I miss anything. Most youtube videos you can watch while eating or cleaning or living your life, and just backtrack a bit if it gets good and you don't want to miss anything. That feels more human, somehow.

To anyone wanting to get rid of their “addiction” to getting pulled into KZbin shorts: There is a button (three dots) at the top right side of the shorts tab, if you click it, it comes up with the option to get rid of yt shorts, if that doesn’t work, just click don’t recommend on every video on the shorts tab and then refresh, it should go away.

The main thing I hate about KZbin Shorts and TikTok is that it made everyone's attention span ridiculously low. NOW if your video isn't super interesting EVERY SECOND, then it's immediately flagged as "boring". The fellas at KZbin Headquarters actually made a terrible decision to add a "TikTok" feature on this website. Their stuff was completely fine just the way it was, unique from the other social media platforms and still entertaining. *Listen,* the reason this is so bad, is because, as I said before, TikTok's handful of super short videos made people used to the idea that a video has to be entertaining and wild/crazy every nano-second and that you can just scroll to the next video whenever you feel like it.

The worst part is the way you want to tell the algorithm to stop showing certain content. It goes a little like this: 1- Get unwanted content 2-"Don't recommend this channel" it 3- Get the same content again It's just so annoying to tell KZbin to not show you something. On regular videos, it's simple, because you click what you wanna watch, but on shorts, you don't know what you will watch, or when you will watch it, and you cannot pick the shorts you wanna watch. Take for example those annoying "Scroll to get bad luck" shorts, I tell the algorithm I don't want to see AI-generated Jesus over and over and over again saying that "If I sCrOlL i Am A sInNeR" and to "cOmMeNt "AmEn" iF yOu LiKe GoD". It's the same kind of content OVER AND OVER AGAIN. also, I'm at 75% to 100% battery lol

Thankful that I’m not alone, I agree with this video, KZbin is no longer the same, it’s just a copy, and I am TIRED of seeing the shorts about the most common BS, and at the TOP of my search results, when I want substance when I search for something. It’s frustrating, to the point that I spend way too much time trying to get past the shorts in order to FINALLY find a good actual long video. the worst part is most people take advantage of shorts and just upload 5 videos per day and they instantly get thousands of views because the algorithm is so screwed up that uploading the most garbage video will get thousands of views.
