alreet del. ive only done plinth skirtings once and you are 100% correct they are super time taking. i got around the dishwasher a little different to you. i had to fit the skirts about 5 or so mm lower than you have done due to the customer not taking on board advice about screeding the floor. she deemed it unnecessary so to get over it i fitted the plinths a little lower on the side of the room that the dishwasher was on and on the other side of the room they were in the position you have yours in. it did help a little bit and i ended up with the piece beneath the dishwasher was flush with the top of the skirt. it cleared the door fine but it was as close as i dared to take it. Looked decent in the end though

I am no carpenter but the last kitchen I fitted I used magnetic catches to secure the cornice to facilitate their removal. Having seen how you solved the dishwasher and plinth removal I think I might give these a go for that location as I too am fitting these skirting plinths for the next kitchen. I think I know the supplier now 😊

It is all the finishing details that make the job stand out for the Customer and for a very quality job you should always stipulate in your contract that you require a very tall Carpenter to install the smallest of kitchen cabinet plinths but the quality of the end work you did was up there at Olympic Standard for sure there 😄

You can tell it's a bad idea when the plinth takes longer to fit than the rest of the kitchen! Style over substance, while it might look good it's just not practical to fit or remove and will be more prone to damage than a normal plinth. Another great job there Del and some great tips as usual, having fitted this type of plinth a couple of times I felt your pain, we all welcome a challenge but this is one you can do without.

When I did the dishwasher plinth / skirting I think the instructions said to cut the block part to the width of the dishwasher and flip it upside down so there’s a recess at the top that way the tongue still fits into the groove on the back of the skirting. Took me 3 kitchens to work that out 😂
