Hey, could you guys help me with something? I achieved 9.4 cgpa in my 10th standard cbse board, but post this, my grades went downhill; around 70% in my 11th, 12th and graduation. I am skeptical about applying as I feel my chances of getting into a good university for my masters are quite low. I don't have a lot of extra-curricular achievements like theatre, music and other stuff. I would appreciate if one of you could throw some light on how slim my chances of getting into a good university are.

boston university is one of the easiest universities to get into so if you're planning to go there, don't stress about it. Though if you're trying to get in w/o a scholarship, it's really expensive so you need to be really privileged to study abroad.

Also there are different SCHOLARSHIP EXAMINATIONS which y'all can take cause studies in abroad is way too expensive but scholarship exams like SAT, GMAT, etc can be a great help and y'all can also consult a CAREER ADVISOR, plus if you wanna study engineering in abroad then make sure you also prepare for JEE exams cause they do consider your JEE GRADES and this can help you get into a really good college across the world BUT still if you want to study abroad but you don't want it to be a lot expensive then you could always consider GERMANY; the education is legit good there plus they also offer free education but you need to learn their language before going there. ADVICE:Instead of doing your UNDERGRAD in abroad, do your POST GRADUATION cause thats less expensive :D

I did not score good marks in my 9th grade and now that I am in 10th, the boards got cancelled so I won't be scoring good marks either in 10th grade but I if I work hard and improve myself do you think I have a chance, I have really strong extracurriculars tho. and also if I score 1500+ on the SAT would it make a difference? Sometimes i really feel bad for my friends, being an IB Student and a average kid i was accepted at many universities while my friends from state board were denied in the same although they had better grades then me. I am no where trying to disrespect the indian boards but i had this in my mind since a long time and felt just speaking up about it. I still have that regret in my heart deep inside whenever i meet them, but never have the guts to confess this ! I hope that this mentality of foreign colleges change in the future..... I hope they look for knowledge not money ... - A privileged kid

Glad to hear this from a IB student who’s just telling reality and I too myself feel bad for loosing so much opportunities that I could have even after coming from a CBSE Background but as I didn’t have that privilege So I had to give off my dream of studying into an IVY School or the Top Tier Uni which I once dreamt of and now my life is completely depends on that one exam which will decide my future and the fact is IB students have all the privileges and that’s how they end up getting into these schools. ~ A Unprivileged Kid
