“I felt guilty for wanting to exist outside of teaching.”…. How relatable and well said!

I pray that there is an entire shift in our education system. Teachers are my heroes. Our teachers and kids deserve a better system where there is respect and balance all around.

I hope there is, too. Teachers deserve so much more (and better) of everything-- respect, resources, work-life balance. Or we could even just start with getting their basic human needs met by being able to use the bathroom. Things like this would never fly in other professions and it’s infuriating.

@@itskristinamoro I have to say, as a nurse, the struggles of not being able to use the bathroom are similar! lol

Number 3 resonates with me, I have 3 kids all in different after school activities and crazy schedules... my son always asks me why I don't talk in the car on the way home.... because after teaching 4th graders all day I am fricken brain exhausted....

Yes!!!! My mom taught at the school I went to until I was in 3rd grade and every single day, we rode home in total silence. Once we got home, she was all about talking and catching up! I never understood why until I became a teacher 😂 You're so strong for doing it all 🫶🏼

Thank you for sharing your story. You hit it on the head when you said teaching was all consuming. I resigned at the end of 23-24 school year. I’m still feeling a lot of guilt and wondering if I made the right decision. Teaching was toxic for me. I was not mentally healthy while teaching and my relationships suffered. I know I will feel at peace with my choice in due time.

Hi. Thank you so much for this video. It moves me to get on to my decisions. I have some questions, actually, but to explain some backgrounds kinda of lengthy since I am not in the same country as yours.

Hey Tina! So glad to see you doing better and enjoying this new chapter of your life! As a pre-k teacher, I’ve always loved watching your vlogs, and even tho you’re no longer teaching, I’d still watch a lifestyle or day in the life vlog from you. You’re such a great person and so inspiring, keep being you! 💕

It wasn’t the teacher content that kept me watching your channel, it was you! 🥰

Congrats on your life change. I grew up in Mesa/Apache Junction Arizona and then lived in the White Mountains of Arizona for 15 years. Absolutely beautiful state. The heat of the valley can REALLY get to you! Plus its extremely crowded. However the White Mountains area is where id move back to 100 times over! Just breath taking.

We really enjoyed everywhere out there so far! We’ve been scouting out areas during our various trips and we didn’t see Apache Junction yet, but we did like the west valley/outskirts near Buckeye and Surprise!

Teaching is scrutinizing which is why I want out, which is what you touched upon. I demoted myself to substitute. This is my 30th year. Also, cannot keep up with the teacher evaluation work on the weekends as a single parent.

This country will never value or pay teachers enough compared to other careers. Next year I plan on doing this teaching field for the last time and I am out. 🙏🏾
