That's why Xbox needs to come out with more first party games that are compelling. People buy consoles for the games. If a console has a very popular games that no other platform has, people will buy into that particular platform. Phil Spencer constantly talked about all the studios they bought for this generation and all the games they would release - and 4 years later, those games have just not materialized(or the ones that were released have been underwhelming).

how do you judge "build quality" with a console? Neither console has any significant failure point like the 360 RROD thus far. Unlike the Switch, most people don't constant move a home console to different locations, so it really doesn't matter if the materials used for the casing are cheap or premium.

GamePass Ultimate is a tough one for me. On the rare occasion that Xbox puts out a first part title, it's nice to have, however this last year it's gone up in price, kept 80% of the same catalogue for 4 years, and had like 3 releases. $20/month for it is kinda insane tbh.

Sony has dormant gigantic titles that the consumer have been asking. At least there’s Kill Zone, Socom, Bloodborne remake, resistance, bring MGS4 to PS5, and I’m sure there’s more. I truly enjoyed my XSX while I had it, but all new Xbox titles are equally available for PC on Day One, so why bother? Hell even PlayStation has Demon Souls exclusive to console and I wished it got released for Pc, but it is what it is lol. Xbox needs more games as “Only on Xbox” from the old days to compete, but that’s my opinion.

I’ve always been an PlayStation fan, I remember my parents buying me the PlayStation 1 and final fantasy 7 when it first released, I remember it had about 3 or 4 disc’s. Brilliant game. I’ve always said PlayStation beats Xbox hands down with miles better exclusive’s. I play all my games on PS5 now. I only bought an Xbox Series X just for Microsoft Flight Simulator and Red Dead Redemption 2 that’s it.

Hardly turned my xbox on since the 2020 launch, stacked gold few years back and converted it to 3 years of games pass ultimate for about £35... In they 3 years which ends in Jan 2025, I've downloaded about 5 games. From my glory cod mw 360 days in 2007, playing with friends every night, even through the red ring of death days, the community back then was next level 🔥. To see what it's become and allow to fester, is just down right heart breaking.

I don't see a future for xbox. Consoles need two things - great hardware value and compelling exclusive games. Xbox has neither. The last Xbox exclusive I got excited for was Halo:reach. I don't think their decision to go all-in on Gamepass is a wise one. It feels like Xbox is run by rich people who could always buy all the consoles on the market, and they have no understanding of how most people, who only purchase one console, buy and play games.

I see MS dropping the Xbox as a brand and becoming a games publisher on all other formats. MS have spent ludicrous amounts of money buying studios but this isn't suddenly boosting Xbox sales. As for CoD on game pass, this is going to cost them huge losses. And I also think that not buying games makes you less invested in them, sure you can try a game but I'd love to see the GP stats for games that get downloaded, played for a bit then deleted. By the end of this decade I believe Xbox will be gone and MS Games will be the focus

What reason is there to purchase an Xbox? I've been playing Silent Hill 2, Wukong, Astro Bot, Space Marine 2, Sparking Zero on my PS5. I can play upcoming games from Microsoft like Black Ops 6, Doom and Indiana Jones on my PS5. Starfield ended up being a total disaster. There's just no reason to buy an Xbox. It's a redundant console.

There was massive amounts of cope initially, but many developers have confirmed it, the Series S let all the air out of Xbox's tires this generation. The sad part is that Microsoft had everything coming together just nicely for the Xbox Series consoles to be a huge success and, even so, they managed to completely miss the mark by simply going the American capitalism route of not properly investing their money into building stable studios and constantly outsourcing and contracting game development, which produced just a sad mess of low quality games. Not releasing an Xbox Series X Elite to capitalize on offering better graphics in GTA VI is another hugely missed opportunity as GTA VI is the main reason Sony is even releasing the PS5 Pro for which they know they can afford to charge as much as they'd like and it'll sell like crazy. Microsoft should seriously consider investing heavily into raising the Xbox brand awareness through GTA VI by releasing the Xbox Series X Elite and striking some kind of an Xbox marketing deal with T2 to try turning things around in the long run. Drop the Series S to $149-199, Series X to $349-$399, release the Series X Elite with as much power as possible at $549 even if it's sold for a loss, streamline the Xbox Game Pass subscription, strike an Xbox + GTA VI marketing deal even if it's in T2's favor and watch everyone break their necks to get an Xbox. I know I'd be the first one to get it just for GTA VI instead of a PS5 as the game won't be coming to PC day one. For a company that threw nearly $70 billion at Activision, they could absolutely afford to be the main star of the GTA VI show, it doesn't have to be Sony. I can't emphasize enough how much of an opportunity they're allowing to pass them by with the release of GTA VI while they're doing nothing thinking releasing the next-gen Xbox in 2026 is somehow gonna give them some kind of an advantage over Sony that's lining PS6 up for 2028.

Well, if you consider that a decent VGA, like the 4070Ti still costs £770... and that's just the VGA. You still need to buy the rest of the PC, which is at least another £700... You spent £1500 for a gaming PC and the XSX is £400.

I just really don’t understand what Xbox is doing right now. I was a big fan of the Xbox One X and completely bought into the Series X/S generation with the promise of power and tons of games that they were working on. They bought tons of studios and we were going to see games left and right - and 4 years later, we’ve seen next to nothing. I’m not saying Sony is knocking it out of the park when it comes to games, but it just seems like they are keeping the ship steady, which is much better in contrast to Xbox. I’ve sold my Xbox, built a PC, and bought a PS5 for console stuff. It’s just hard to see the Xbox as a console platform that’s very compelling for the future. Unless they start fulfilling the promise of releasing games, I think the Xbox has another generation left at best before it becomes a software publisher and all in on PC Microsoft gaming. The Xbox really does need someone to come in there and kick some butt to turn things around.

XB right now is certainly a near clueless mess, that is undeniable they continue to close studios, laying off hundreds of developers, publicly asking why developers arent making games for their consoles, have an entire team that refuses to believe in the importance of making 5 star killer exclusives (from top dog Satya down) & are getting outsold by Sony by what like 3.5 to 1 now. The top 3-4 executives at XB should be fired imo this would be the perfect time for Sega (perhaps collaborating with a Panasonic, LG, Roku, Google/android or Apple) to re-enter the gaming market and be like remember us, yeah we back!

I own both xbox series x and playstation 5 . They both are great consoles. But on comparing subscription services on both ps and xbox , xbox just smashes down ps plus with big margin

I have sold my Series S/X setup with the release of Pc GamePass. I prefer Pc as a platform in general. Why would i buy another Xbox console ? But the same goes for PlayStation. They release their games on Pc as well. So my Ps5 is most likely my last PS console

I got rid of my Series X. And stuck to my PS5. There's just so much wrong with Xbox that PS nails. For starters, I hate that Xbox controllers need AA Batteries. There is no App that I can view the game library and buy games. The UI on the Home screen is all over the place. I could go on.
