The kicker? By doing this it is closer to reality then most sci-fi settings as funny as it sounds. During Cold War humanity invented nuclear mines, hand held "briefcase" bombs, crew served launchers with nuclear warhead, nuclear artillery shells that can be loaded into any gun above 130mm in caliber or can be equipped to any sort of aircraft. Nowadays we are constantly increasing range and precision of those weapons. Neither of those two exclude the other. If humanity would be forced to abandon all treaties and ethics, we can develop an ATGM that is carried by two people, can fire for 20km, can guide the missile into an open hatch of a vehicle and then make a 10 kiloton explosion. Nowaday tech! People just forget how much we are actually pulling out punches if possible because we aren't all crazy uneducated religious fanatics fighting literal devil... and three other devils;)

You can say that starship guns can do better... until you need to bring starship gun right next to the target on surface level to fire accurate shot because either something is blocking line of sight from orbit or shooting from high angle isn't an option. That's when Titans come into play.

The Warlord Titan which is actually the smallest of the Heavy Battle Titan class would be around 800 meters tall making Godzilla(2021) look like a 3 year old toddler. The Titans are truly gigantic GOD MACHINES that are capable of blotting out the sun as they cause the ground they walk on to tremble in fear with each and every step. Titans are Harbinger-Reaper sized Monstrosities from Mass Effect but much much chunkier and they sound like them too. GLORY TO THE OMNISSIAH!

The Imperial knight is 12 meters and a warhound is much bigger so a warhound being only 14 meters doesn't make any sense

A bit of correction on the Ordo sinister; their actually piloted by nulls as anti psycher Titans and they are as nasty as they sound.

That is incorrect. They are piloted by psykers, and have a null on board tasked with exechting them if things go sideways.

Fun fact about Titans: Whilst a majority of all Titans are of STC pattern origin, the Emperor class titans are one of the only patterns that are of Mechanicus origin since they are built as true avatars of the Machine God, since each forgeworld comes up with their own design many Emperor class Titans, both Imperator and Warmonger varients, are always unique in design from their forgeworlds origin. This would explain why none are built today and why many can vary from 40 meters tall to confirmed heights of up to 120 meters tall.
