As an old bloke, not looking for 'war' all the time, I'm constantly staring over as i try to perfect my best starting strategy. Then I get bored as I hit the development limits and i start over again 😂😂😂 I think the next release needs to have some progression updates (development tree etc), city walls would be good with more stone available so they can upgrade. Yep, i played lots of AoE 🤪🤪🤪

When the opponent create its own cities etc then its going to be a true game changer. Until then the novelty factor of new maps is still pretty good. I'd love to see an ability to create moats and dikes as defensive structures. Also roaming packs to wolves that snatch children from houses would be cool too. Then a new unit say city watch complete with lanterns and light posts and outposts would create more immersion. Also an overton window for political cultural economic disposition could give variance in all areas of civility and combat and trade.

Sheep need to be reworked to produce more meat, and lambs. Lambs need to mature into sheep. How are we supposed to get a butcher running on 1 sheep and 1 lamb production a month. Pigs work fine but goats should produce milk or cheese.

I think this can turn into a better total war if we get army grouping capabilities and AI that can managed those groupings... Imagine grouping 3-6 units form a company sized bigger unit that can effectively fight independently with AI control. They can form a solid wall to hold, fight a hammer and anvil style mini battle, or even skirmish, not engaging in full battle just screening the main line or denying the enemy of a strategic place. In a larger scale war, we have battle lines with several companies that fight independently. You only need to issue orders like push them out or hold them in place, or another company maneuvering to flank them. No need to micro. Just issue orders and directions to focus on. You can keep forming groups like group a company of several units to form a battalion, their behavior of fighting changes because they fight differently compared to lower units. For example, a regiment is made up of single type of unit whether infantry, cavalry, or artillery then a brigade is a combined arms force of various types of units combined to be a stand alone force that fights independently and sustain it well. Ahh... We can only dream...

@Byz_enjoyer it doesn't need to be a total war to be a better total war. I find 20-50 men basic fighting unit to actually be more historically accurate than 60 - 150 men per unit of total war. Medieval company equivalents usually do have numbers like that (100) but they still divide them into 2 (50) and let them be commanded by lieutenants. They are much more maneuverable and if what i said about unit groupings and AI help comes true, it's going to be so much better. But yeah, the scale of the game won't handle larger and more models army like total war so I can only dream about it.

No offense to manor lord, but when all the total war youtuber oversell Manor lord early access (on my first game I was stunned by the relatively small level your town can get, since all the tech where lock due to early access. Military part was not working since all the mercenary where hire indefinitely by the baron, my army quite small due to the town limitation). Personally I give Manor lord 10 hours and then uninstall it (since there is only one map available). My advice wait for the game full release in 2 or 4 years to not waste the pleasure.
