I bought a 2014 MKS AWD with 32K miles for $15.9 in July 2018. $15.9!! Original sticker was $52k. Car is beautiful and rides like a dream and is loaded with features. I have disappointed countless friends when I tell them what I paid and then they see how it compares to their $25k Korean Cars. With the 3.7l V6, throw it into Sport Mode, and this thing gets up an moves. Car is so quiet and so comfortable. I got rid of my Jaguar XF Supercharged V8 Portfolio Edition and purchased an MKS AWD Eco-boost on Tuesday. I got a great deal and I'm thrilled with the car. It has almost every available option on it with the exception of distance pacing cruise control. It has heated front and rear seats, A/C front seats, message seats, adjustable pedals, GPS and blind spot monitoring as well as lane departure warning. Many, many more features than my Jaguar and the insurance is $100 per month less on the Lincoln. It goes from a luxury car to a sports car with the sport mode and twin turbocharged V6. I highly recommend this over a Jaguar XF.

I have owned three Lincoln MKS vehicles. I had a 10, and now 14 and16. Regret selling the 2010. They have all had the EcoBEAST engines. That motor is amazing. I have all wheel drive with that car. You can stomp it to the floor and watch the Corvettes, Mustang, and Camaro, and 5.7L hemis sit fighting for traction as you leave them behind in your rear view mirror. They will catch up, but by that time I slow down and just smile and wave. A lot of folks have been very surprised. It is very rare for me not to be first away from the light. My wife loves to pull “The Little Old Lady From Pasadena” on guys. She is 79. (Don’t tell her I told you, please!). Sometimes she puts it in SPORT and uses the paddle shifters. Great vehicles. Have not spend one cent on repairs, but maintain them meticulously. We plan on searching for low mileage ones as these wear out. Treat yourself. Yes, we put regular fuel into them. Enjoy!

Rob, thank you for posting this video! About two months ago it popped up on my smartphone as a KZbin recommend to watch. So I watched the video and then decided to just check out some MKS online that were for sale. Well I bought one! A beautiful wine color with light interior an additional door wood package. A truly beautiful and classy looking car. It's in perfect condition having been owned by some older people, and really taken care of. I've enjoyed it immensely for the last two months and I'm so happy I bought this bargain! Thank you for the tip! I love all the cars features it's wonderful leather interior and the killer stereo it has surround sound and can save over 2000 songs in its system. I also have the navigation and satellite radio and weather. Totally amazing to see a map of where you're driving to be able to see if there's clouds above it on the map indicating rain. I've enjoyed the radar cruise control, audible chimes and red heads- up display to warn of need to brake because you're closing in on another car that could result in an accident. And windshield wipers that automatically to come on when drops of rain hit the windshield, and headlights that steer into the corners as you drive , along with coming on automatically and dimming themselves automatically. This car is an absolute pleasure Dome! It is a shame that the critics were so unkind do it in the beginning and that the loyal Lincoln owners of the Town Car turned their backs on it. This is a solid engineered car based on a Volvo S80 safety frame. How can you go wrong? I now see these cars were very good values when new, let alone a steal now! ( Can't believe that they're priced in about the same level of a comparable Taurus or even a Toyota) I'd recommend grabbing them as you can you'll never find such a luxury deal again! BTW.. I'm owner of Mercedes S-class and Bentley Arnage and let me tell you MKS is a better car in my opinion than they are in many ways.The MKS is also a rare car because they didn't sell that many. I like that exclusivity. I get a lot of compliments from strangers saying what a beautiful car it is some even asking if it's 'the brand new Lincoln'. And with Lincoln Motors now on a successful upswing I expect that these cars will probably stop depreciating now and end up being a very good investment for us that bought them now!

@theory816 Totally agree on the grill. The new one is so generic looking it's not even funny. And I have a hard time believing the OP who said this car was better than a MB S Class or Bentley Arnage. 4 year update: Well, it's been over four years that I've owned this vehicle now. It's been absolutely trouble-free ( more than I can say for S-Class or the Bentley, which is gone now) and a satisfying car. True, the other cars are better quality in depth, but nothing's wrong with the MKS. My initial exuberance over this car was the great value. Used, it was one fifth of the price of the Mercedes, and one tenth of the price of the Bentley. And surprisingly MKS is now worth more than I paid for it four years ago! This was a good thing! It still gets good compliments I'm being a beautiful looking car

I have a fully loaded 2013 ecoboost that I intend to mod and tune soon. My goals are 400 wheel HP and to get to run a 1/4 mile in the 12.5-12.9 range. This is the most underrated used car value out there. It is a better buy than an SHO because those whom bought these new were by and larger and older person who did not beat on it and dealer serviced it. I highly suggest that all of the fellow MKS ecoboost owners out there change your PTU fluid as they are prone to fail. That is what Ford calls their transfer case. It was supposed to be a "lifetime" fluid with no drain plug but Ford quickly realized that it needs service every 30,000 miles because it is only a quart of gear oil that has no cooling and gets cooked by the engine, trans, and cats. Keep on top of that and you should have little problems with these. It's an awesome car.

I feel this not true. Life expectancy is 250k. But with proper maintenence could go well over 300k. The regular 3.7 v6 model is just not enough power for such a heavy car tbh. I can only imagine it being a smooth ride but incredibly slow. Most people probably just don't know how to maintenence the eco boost. Most engines with turbos are cooled by the oil. But the ecoboost turbos are cooled by the coolant. So you have to maintain clean coolant. And do oil changes a bit sooner than normal cars.

The Lincoln MKS is a very attractive car, but not devoid of problems. Some of the things to watch on these models are leaky panoramic sunroofs, and faulty water pump replacements (due to their insanely inconvenient location in the engine block). Under the hood, beware in general of models equipped with the 3.5L EcoBoost bi-turbo engine; while fun to drive, these high-tech engines are high maintenance when mileage goes over 100K; I'd much rather stick with a more dependable, naturally aspirated 3.7L than Ford's bi-turbo 3.5L on the MKS. Inside the car, beware of the haptic infotainment (FCIM module) on the 2013-2016 models: some suffer from the "ghost heater button" syndrome where the heater starts on its own, causing the climate control to blow hot air at full throttle inside the car. I've heard of this problem from many owners and it can be crippling during the summer. There is unfortunately no remedy except sourcing and installing a new FCIM module (that part is expensive and hard to find, because no longer supported by Ford), or taking apart the existing one to de-solder the defective capacitive heater buttons behind the panel. I've heard the radio volume button can have the same problem too (I let you imagine how uncomfortable this might be). The MKS models from 2009 to 2012 do not suffer from these issues because they have regular radio and climate control buttons (what was Ford thinking with these insanely inconvenient capacitive infotainment systems is beyond me). So in my humble opinion, a used, base model from 2010-2012 may be the sweet spot if one really wants to drive an MKS. That being said, I'm willing to bet an MKS is still more affordable and dependable than any BMW or Mercedes from the same year, so it's probably not a bad choice!

The good looking Lincoln mks has some engineering failures...number one is the Transmission filter location which makes it impossible to change (Thanks to Ford Engineers) .The transmission on Lincoln Mks,Mkt and some other models is on the Vertically positioned installed ...that means that to change the transmission filter you have to get all the transmission out . Number 2 - Watter Pump location ...Watter pump is located inside the engine and if it fails the price to fix it goes from 2100$ or so .... On the old Lincoln town car the watter pump it is located outside so you can replace it yourself with little knowledge... Another failure is the Transfer case or Gear box that needs Oil and it is located in front of the car and the differential that need oil and has fill bolt and drain bolts. It is a nice car if you have knowledge to fix it yourself..... It is fun driving car and powerful car but remember...if you change the transmission fluid every 15.000 like I do it will last for long time like my Lincoln Mkt 225.000 miles and going......

Great car I love it I bought a 2013 The only thing I don’t like is that the dash cluster it’s not like the 15 & 16 year models I don’t know about the 2014 ones but the left side don’t have a digital speedometer the right side don’t show navigation directions & compass plus it doesn’t display music information by bluetooth only does it when phone is connected with USB cord Do anybody know if a 2016 speedometer cluster will fit in a 2013 model

Well it used to be a used car bargain but in '22 they jacked up prices due to new car shortages. But it is an awesome luxury car and has some great lines.

Yeah, any years of the mks and mkz to avoid, I would like to know. Thanks.
@senselessmonkee Жыл бұрын
@@rockerdad2 I heard 2016 is the best MKS but pre 2017 they all are most likely to have problems with the heater AC controls having a mind of its own. No recall on that. But updating the circuit board will fix it.
@AustinDashes2 жыл бұрын
Yes it is. Old video but still true I think. If you find an mks Ecoboost with the pano roof and all the bells and whistles they are loaded! I had a 2016 Lincoln mkz 3.7 I bought for $20k with 6k miles only in 2019 and that's only because I needed a car asap since my daily had a blown motor suddenly and I almost bought an mks Ecoboost with only 38k miles with all the features for less than $16k. If the dealer that was selling it didn't take so long to get it in since it was purchased at auction I'd have the mks to this day probably.

Great video man. You get to the point and you cover all bases. Got a great sense of this car. I prefer the exterior of the MKZ, but I never cared for the interior of it. I love this interior. Such a bang for your buck. Do you still feel the same? Other than the volume control, what don’t you like about it?

The 2017 Lincoln MKZ Hybrid Select, Gets 41 MPG I got mine for $20K with 35K Miles, fully loaded, it is really nice and would recommend it over the MKs in terms of Comfort Drove both NgL the MKs drives pretty well, but It feels like a Ford, it drives like a Ford, but the MKZ drives like a, well, Lincoln It feels good, I sold my Mercedes for the MKZ and I must say it was a good choice, For me the MKZ seems like a better deal, in terms of Comfort and Fuel Economy, But in terms of price and interior is a little better, the MKs is the way to go. 👍🏻

People buy the mks cuz it has more power and is luxurious. Not that many enjoy a slow boat. I chose mine cuz it has 365hp plus you can easily add a tune and get it to 400+.

I own a 2013. The most annoying problem it had was the touch capacitive button would press all on its own and you cant buy them new anymore so I had to get a little creative. Its a Ford so it wouldn't kill you on repairs for the most part. Adaptive suspension repairs can be costly

That’s awesome! I have the same year and I’m preparing to flat tow it behind my Motorhome. The manual says it’s towable with all 4 wheels on the ground but not on a dolly. The Motorhome Dinghy Guide says it is flat towable but my mechanic had me nervous because he says that AWD vehicles are NOT flat towable. For anyone have any experience with towing?

How bad is the water pump issue in the 3.5 and 3.7 engines? I know the engineering/design is ridiculous. My corporate fleet vehicle, a 2016 Explorer, had the leaking water pump and it cost thousands of dollars for them to pre-emptively replace the water pump and a gaggle of other parts to save the engine from being destroyed from a full water pump failure. Now I'm afraid of the MKZ or MKS. But is it a wide spread problem, or is the internet exaggerating the failure rate?

Rob, your videos are good. It helps you're a good looking guy (no homo! LOL!) But take it from someone in TV for years, the WORST thing you can do on camera (besides be out of focus) is hide your eyes. The eyes are the window to the soul, and those who hide their eyes on camera can never be trusted. It's instinctive so there's no way to get around it. If you lose the shades, your connection with the audience will change for the better immeasurably. If you were not a good-looking guy, it may not be such a good idea to be on camera. But you are, so stop hiding your eyes. And good luck with making more great videos bro.
