What if 12 was an answer choice? Would that work? or does the mystery number have to have three 2s?
@TheTestedTutor4 жыл бұрын
Has to have 3 twos
@shadaeboakye-yiadom88334 жыл бұрын
@@TheTestedTutor Still debating this. If the mystery number had to have 3 twos, then why doesn't 24 have to have one 5? The LCM of 8 and 15 is 120. 12 is a factor of 120. In order for something to be divisible, all the factors in the denominator must be matched to something in the numerator. If 12 (2x2x3) was in the denominator, it would match up to two of the three 2s and one of the threes in the numerator (2x2x2x3x5). Is there an error in my logic here?

Hi Phillip, hope you're well! Phenomenal job on these videos - I was wondering if you could help out with an official question? I've tried this with picking numbers and it seems to work for the most part, but I'm still left with eliminating between A and E, and it took a lot more time to pick a pair of integers that finally let me eliminate E and I ended up with A which is the correct answer - but this process took more time than I'd like it to. Is there quicker way? If c and d are positive integers and m is the greatest common factor of c and d, then m must be the greatest common factor of c and which of the following integers? A .c+d B. 2+d C. cd D. 2d E. d^2
