THETFORD 565E porta potti not pumping water

We bought a brand new THETFORD 565E porta potti and out of the box it did not pump water when I went to flush it the first time.
I Decided to make a little video for anyone who comes across the same problem. Hopefully this helps some of you who I know will buy a brand-new fitted 565E And I wondering why it won’t pump water on the flush.

Thanks so much, I have an earlier/obsolete model 92360 which was just installed on my boat by the boat dealer, the exact same crack was the issue. I used your cable tie method to re-attach and presto, all works now! Thanks so much.

Thanks for sharing your solution to a shitty Christmas Day. Came across your video looking for a video on how the flush action works, could see in yours since you added the cleaner that it swirls in which is likely to work well I think. If I buy one I think I’ll open that up right away and add a cable tie before it breaks.

The hand pump one failed on mine after 6 camp trips , I got the hand one cause I thought the battery pump wouldn’t last😂😂

That’s a bugger Steve! I would have figured THETFORD would be a reputable brand but obviously their quality control is a little to be desired!! Once the battery flush one was fixed it has worked a treat!!

@@gavincoleman777 yep, since heard that it’s best to have the top tank either full or empty as the water sloshing pulls the hose off, they are good with warranty at least😂👍

I bought a part Thetford 92306 Porta Potti 565E (Electric) Portable Toilet, White-Gray, 448 x 388 x 450 mm I have a problem after starting the electric pump is inefficient, could I install a manual pump instead, will it fit? If so, please provide the link of the manual pump, I want to buy it. I will ask again if the manual pump will fit in place of the electric one, thank you

Are you able to access the inside and replace that tubing with tygon tubing???

You should be able to Geffrey. Once you have the pump out you could probably use ANY other type of tubing. Once it’s replaced it works like a beauty 👍👍

Nice repair video but I have a question. Will this porta potti swallow an average sized turd? I've watched dozens of videos about the Thetford 565E and everybody seems to avoid talking about taking a dump in them. Reason for the question is when I have to pee I do it outside my camper. I don't want to spend money on something only to be used as a urinal.

Do you reckon it was corrosion from leaky battery acid or corrosion from water getting to the battery? Thanks.

How would you like to be the moron at the factory that assembled this hose on the pump and knew full well it split and then watched their shoddy embarrassing workmanship on this KZbin video! I spent the majority of my career in manufacturing, this kind of quality is shameful. Thank you for this video, I'll know what to do if mine does this.
