I just love her. And I'm not surprised the search committee eliminated her for Pastor even though she is uniquely qualified. After Dr Butt's death I left Abyssinian but if Dr Turman has been hired, I would have come running back. And believe me many many more would have too.❤

I love a good sermon, however, the Bible doesn’t give or recognize these titles, the Rev, Dr. Preachers. Physician of medicine.. I. E. Doctor. Reverence to God, however, give honor where honor are do. I know titles that God doesn’t approve of can bring in more income to the person/s. People let’s not add or take away from God’s word.

Every profession has a level of academic training obtained. Associates, Intern, Bachelors, Masters, and Doctorate...this includes trained Christian Ministry...This woman of God is well-trained and knows she is just pure preaching! There is nothing wrong or sinful with rendering basic respect to these gifts that God gives us. Please don't focus on stuff that doesn't matter. Proper titles are not adding or taking away from the word -- basic church protocols are to be understood here.
