Alexandria Buggie but if Jay’s 16 and they’ve been trapped on the isle for twentyish years, there’s a few issues with that. First, Jasmine’s married to Aladdin by then, and she’s too smart to go screw Jafar, and not just because she’d be cheating on Aladdin, but because he’s gotta be at least thirty years older than her, so that’d be gross on a number of levels. Second, on the very off chance that Jafar did knock up Jasmine, the kid pops out of the mom, so unless Jasmine was heartless enough to ship her newborn off to an isle crawling with thugs, Jay would have grown up in Auradon and he wouldn’t have met the other VKs until they came to Auradon, and that’s clearly not the case. The other way that Jasmine could be Jay’s mom but Jay could still have grown up on the isle would be if Jay was born before the villains were booted off. That would make Jay at least twenty, and he’s sixteen in the movie. Third, Jafar seems so desperate, he’d probably hook up with anything female, and the poor girl on the isle that he ended up impregnating by accident would probably give the kid to Jafar rather than deal with the hassle herself. Fourthly, back to the Jasmine boning Jafar thing...ew. The dusty, crusty, musty villain hooking up with a hot, young thing like Jasmine? If that makes your stomach churn, then good, it should. But that’s just my two cents on that relationship. Feel free to think what you want.

I wish there was a video on whether or not the descendants were actually raised by parents doing their best. Mal was raised by a woman who only knew how to be evil, and by her own admission, taught Mal the same lessons her own mother had passed down to her, she also shared a name with Mal that shares her own power (according to fairy lore). Jay taught his son all the lessons that he knew had succeeded in Aladdin becoming everything Jafar wanted for himself; Aladdin was a kind thief who could survive anything in a terrible situation for years, yet still, protect someone weaker than himself even when he is outmatched or overpowered, and Jay was raised to be the diamond in the rough. Evie was taught everything that the Queen herself knew, as well as everything that she believed made Snow White, Cinderella and Beauty become princesses and queens. Remember how proudly Evie told Charming that she could cook and clean and sew? she wasn't ashamed of it, she was gloating about her skills. Even Carlos was kept in the safest place that Cruella could devise because she kept her treasures all in only one place-her closet. He was allowed to drive a sick car that any teenager or car hobbyist would kill to be allowed to take for a spin, and so what if he was only allowed to drive this masterpiece while driving his mother? I'm sorry, but that's just being responsible. They did a lot wrong, but if you look at the kids, they did a lot right as well.

Later on he does as she asks and brings her friend back from death. No big show, no bargaining, just does it. Then give Mal the ember with no strings attached. He actually seems like the most caring parent out if all of them. Knowing Makificent, it may have been an issue that Hades, powerless, became little different from any other man and actually cared about his daughter, but Makificent didn't like the influence he would be and essentially kicked him out. "If you come back, I'll kill her." Or something like that. We don't know. Or Maybe he knew he'd be a shit parent overall and actually thought he was doing better by her by staying away.

The irony is that, in the case of Maleficent, she might not have been evil in the original stories. Aurora's parents, (Aka, the parents of sleeping beauty), failed to invite her, and when she showed up and even gave them a chance to admit to their mistake, sided with the deemed "good fairies" of an opposing fae court. I actually don't know that much about Descendants, having never watched the series, but couldn't help tuning in since I did grow up on Disney like every other kid. In decendents 3, people started a theory, "what if hades was uma's dad too" Honestly i believe that theory 100% cause that would mean uma and mal are half sisters and since hades left one of their family to hook up with the family, they hate each other and that explains how uma was able to use spells right out of mal's spell book without difficulties

Tbh I have a theory. Throughout descendants 1&2 mals hair is light purple but in descendants 3 her hairs faded out with purple and blue is growing.
