7:37 Never do that thing with the clay bar, as instructed in the video. First, you need a ton of lubrication (preferably water with car soap) when doing it, otherwise the clay won't glide on the surface, and mar it all over. Second, even with all the caution and lubrication, you still have a chance to mar the car's surface, so you'll also need to prepare to polish the car. This will be what will actually give your car more shine. The clay bar will just remove contaminants from the surface, which would hinder you in doing a proper polishing.

Barbasol shaving cream is good for carpeting in your car, the interior seats, carpeting st home, etc. I also found out that WD-40 works well on old trim rings or rally trim rings. Used this on my '69 Vette and haven't had to polish the trim rings yet and it's been 4 years.

Use a pumice stone to brush dog hairs out of your floor mats. Works great! No more back and forth with the vacuum, trying to get those pesky hairs. Use the stone to brush the hairs into a small pile, then vacuum. Be careful around plastic, as it will scratch it easily.

I detail cars in real life..... For headlights you can use "Off", yes off mosquito repellent. Slime & a tooth brush or useful tools, but do not use tooth paste on anything for your car. Glass cleaner works for cleaning almost anything. "L.A.'s Totolly Awesome" from the dollar store works great on stains in your seats or carpet, & also works on rims, & a great degreaser. Orange Clean & other house hold cleanees mixed with water also do a great job on clean dash boards, & other hard surfaces on the inside of your car. If you have access to an air compressor, a pistol grip blower attachment & a vaccum should be you & your car's best friends.

Nathan Halk If you're a detailer, you should know *not* to use Off on headlights. It is a temporary fix, lasting only a couple of wks and it is actually melting the top coat of the plastic away and if not completely cleaned off, it will continue to melt layers off, just making it worse than when you began.

Cιʂ Iɳ I've done it to a couple of my cars & friends cars. They've made it all the way through a Michigan winter & still look good. I wouldn't do it to any car I'm being payed to clean, but I'll be damned if I let my friends spend more money than they need too on a used, or old car. The proper way to do the job is with some rubbing compound & polish. But if you're just trying to make a cheap car look better, Off is the cheapest & easiest way to go.

Mr Clean Erasers will also take out small scrapes on your vehicle. I drive a van around Manhattan - and while parked I often come back to a scratch... as long as its not deep (in the paint), it will take out most of the scratch. the black line you get from another drivers mirror...bike handle bar, etc

The claybar thing worked so great! I'll never have to worry about paint issues with my crosstour again now that i have none. Pro tip: if you are having trouble just sliding some random fucking clay around in your car, lube it up with muriatic acid and polish off the remnants with steel or copper wool. I used choreboy but there are competitive offbrands. (Insider hint; it helps to be on meth while you're doing this in order to disregard the fact that it may look like your ruining your factory paint job when in reality, you're just evolving it.) Next what I like to do is take any extra gunk off of the interior and exterior with a 12 prong garden rake and a gas fire. Don't let your dealership know you're doing this because it's a secret they don't want you to know! They'll strip you of your title and most likely put you in prison for unlicensed use of forbidden third era mysticism and hex your family.

The toothpaste hack works very well but she needs to add detail to the explaining. You need gritty toothpaste so it will scratch the surface and remove the layer of uv protectant that is damaged. However you cannot just use toothpaste, you need protectant to make it last. If you don't add the protectant it will yellow in a matter of hours. I tried and I figured it out the hard way. Your better off just buying a kit, does not have to be expensive but it is better.

@@sebastianb5036 sounds great put it in the trunk. but i've got an suv. if i put it behind the third seat maybe they would jump on me while driving. i searched online for cat repellant but i'm not sure if it works because it has a sound similar to a mosquito or rat repellant. right now i'm covering my two suv's with soft leathers to cover the entire hood. so i don't have to worry if my cats would jump in. i'm tired of putting car covers only to be folded and put it again. right now i have more than 20 cats haha.

@@d.a.jrgabriel4631 Well, I got a supersonic device built into my engine bay because of stone martens. These are animals that like to crawl under the hood and bite into tubes and cables. It worked for them. I've had never seen any traces of them when I installed it. No bitemarks no dirt on the paint but I don't know if it was for the sound or the electric shocks they get if they touch the electrodes. I noticed the cats aren't afraid of my car but usually don't like stick around near it. Although they generally like to hide under cars but never under mine. So maybe it will work for you. When it comes to martens it is important to have a device that modulates its frequency to prevent them from adapting. This may be beneficial for cats too.

This is just common sense, and never use alcohol to clean wipers. It'll just dry out the rubber and makes more streaks. Wipers makes streaks because of contaminants, so you should clean it with just soap and water.

This thing is awesome! I only have a 2018 Dodge Durango that sadly does not have leather seats. I own three dogs and it is just a nightmare pulling out my extension cord to vacuum my truck. I can now just plug this little guy into my 12v car outlet and I’m good to go! The power in this vacuum is as good as it’s going to get for a car vacuum so if you want extreme suction - buy a shop vac. Also the attachments are fantastic.
