Interesting fact: Prostitution is allowed in Islam. The evidence for this is in the book Kitabu-lamwaal by Abu 'Ubaid al-Qasim bin Salaam (كتاب الأموال لأبي عبيد القاسم بن سلام رقم الرواية 124) in narration number 124, and the narration is trustworthy. In the narration, there's evidence that the early caliphate in the time of the Salah used to take jizyah from the prostitutes, which means that their job was recognized as legitimate by the caliphate. They saw prostitution as that the woman was hired for sex. So she was bought temporarily, and this was seen as temporary slavery, hence that it was seen as permissible.

@@Owl1416-e5iyou're too dense to understand that Jizyah was taken from non-Muslims. Why would Muslims police the private sins of non-Muslims? They took Jizyah from non-Muslims who made money through interest, too, even though interest is forbidden in Islam. Your entire argument is idiotic.

Creativity and diversity were at the peak because of that !! We need this now and Diana is definitely contributing. Good choices Jalal , you always surprise us!! Jazak Allah khayran

It’s very difficult for Western minds to conceptualize a framework for pluralism outside of secular liberalism via the modern nation state. Not only is pluralism inherently a function of the Shari’ah, but Muslims established and excelled at it for 1200 years.

Islam was great in the past, but not anymore. With extreme conservatism, xenophobia against Kuffar West, and Wahhabism and literalism, Islam is NOW a symbol of not only backward, but also often violent, narrowminded, and religious supremacists. Islam declined and the West went up. It is time the Muslim world embrace the Western Civilization while maintaining Sufi spirituality.
@السرطاوي-د9ب9 күн бұрын
In fact islam maximized both plurality, and individuality, where both can work together at harmony without contradictions. The west is indeed confused about everything, and that is why their young generations are flocking to islam.

Temirlan made military conquests, but he supported science and particularly architecture. Even it is not Genghis khan was horror for the Muslim world, all his grandsons ruling Muslim lands converted to Islam and assimilated with local people. What made real horror and destruction is western liberal ideology which took the minds of Muslims. As Brzezinsky said “we won cultural war”, as after that people voluntarily gave up all the rest their faith, families, land whatever.

Brilliant! I've watched quite a few videos by this lovely lady about Islamic history and it really opened up my eyes. I have no doubt that many Muslims like myself had no idea about this very important Islamic history. Hopefully they'll take their time to learn about the amazing contribution to humanity Muslims have done throughout their existence, but especially during their 8 Century of Spanish rule. There are few good videos by a Professor Cassandra (I think that's his name), he lectured history in Austin school in US. including a video about Khalid Ibn Walid. These videos are few years old now, but my mind was blown to learn just how much Muslims did invent during those years. Rich Europeans were sending their kids to places like Baghdad to get educated, but of course, once the Europeans got hold of this knowledge, they not only adopted it, but accredited themselves for it all, changed the Muslim names to something else so no one would be wiser. It's truly shameful, but truth has a way of revealing itself sooner or later and these days, people are becoming more learned and aware of these things.

What I find interesting is how the Norman’s stylised themselves as Knights of the Cross (Templars) and became a secret organisation known as the Freemasons who pride themselves on having the secrets to building the most admired buildings in Europe. That “secret knowledge” came from the Middle East. Excellent podcast as always!

Currently, all across the geography known as europe, there are over 5000 stone inscriptions which can only be deciphered by ancient Turk language, and by no other language/s. These stone inscriptions are located all across west, north, central and east europe. The people we known in modernity as 'european' are actually people who came from around where India is. Scientists suggest that the migration of people into north america and from there to central and south america occured not only thru the Bearing Bridge (when the strait was a land mass), but also with sea vessels from the shores of what we now know as France into north americas since past 40,000 years much before the ''europeans'' came from around India. The aboriginal people of the reigions we currently know as europe and asia, that is eurasia were the ancestors of modern day Turks (''Turks'' not only as in the inhabitants of Turkish Republic, but all other Turk people across vast geography). The people we know as ''european'' are late comers into the region, killing off and assimilating the local populations. For example the governments of Sweden even until the 1980's, (yes 1980's not 1880's) had a state policy to forcible have indegineous female population surgically mutilated so not to be able to get pregnant, preventing the indegineous population to protect it self. The Roman Empire are took most of it's sciences, arts and state governnance laws from the Etrcuscans, who even the modern day europeans admit are people akin with the central asian people, basically they are camoflaging the fact that they are one of the ancestors of modern day Turks. Likewise many other indegineous populations of what is now know as eurasia are actually ancestors of Turks and when comparing and studying the languages we find the connection. Certainly they did not speak ''modern Turkish'' as spoken in the Republic of Turkiye, but you can clearly see the language evolving into what it has become. Of course to know all this one needs to steer away from ''his-story'' and dewelve in 'history''. Best wishes.
