Friends, It's my city and if anyone is desirous to visit Kannur Arakkal palace, now a museum, very near to Kannur railway station (2km) and from here you can view St. Anchalos Fort built by Portuguese in 1500 AD and Arabian sea. The Arakkal dynasty was a ruler of Short land areas around Kannur and Major portions were Mali island and Lakshadweep island's. The headquarters of the ancient Chirakkal dynasty is just 5 km north of here. The mosque shown in this videograph is from the Odatthil Mosque situated in Tellichery city, just 20km. South to this palace. Both Kannuand Tellichery were the early settlement of Europeans in India.

Some more Info: Ali Raja's invasion of Maldives in 1763 .. After being appointed the Naval Chief of Hyder Ali's army, Ali Raja Kunhi Amsa II's first course of action was to capture the unfortunate Sultan of the Maldives Hasan 'Izz ud-din and present him to Hyder Ali after having gouged out his eyes, he had also defeated Sultan Muhammad Imaduddin III of the Maldives, who died in captivity,.. Soon, Ali Raja Kunhi Amsa II returned to Mysore and its port of Bangalore and arrived at Nagar in order to pay homage to Hyder Ali, who panicked in outrage when Ali Raja Kunhi Amsa II presented him the blinded and unfortunate Sultan of the Maldives Mukkaram Muhammad Imadu-din III. Hyder Ali ordered the deposition of the insane Ali Raja Kunhi Amsa II from the command of his fleet and begged forgiveness from Hasan 'Izz ud-din for the outrage committed by his guilty admiral. Hyder Ali was deeply afflicted by that event and after respectfully escorting and returning Hasan 'Izz ud-din to the Maldives, he withdrew from the palaces and sought solace in simplicity and hardly entrusted anyone whom he had given power and authority.
