In direct sunlight the Z-Blue Milgauss is the most beautiful watch every made; yes the dial almost glows, but the green crystal edge literally does glow with a edge lighting effect that is like no other industrial design. Also at night, the Z-Blue dial reverts to an subtle very dark tone.

Should have mentioned Rolex designed the odometer for the Bloodhound SSC at one point, and the Air King is inspired by that design. It’s not just a random design they made up for a watch.

My grail was the YM2, when I finally got it I realized how big the thing is on my average sized wrist. It is beautiful to look at, and I still wear it occasionally. Damn, if it only came in a 38 to 40mm!

The Air-King is a nice watch and in my opinion, the reason why it's not favored is due to it being priced at the lower end of the Rolex range. When I compare Rolex timepieces to other manufacturers, Omega, IWC, Brietling, Tag Heuer, Grand Seiko etc, I can't understand why Rolex are in such demand. I recently went on a cruise holiday where I spoke to 3 people on separate occasions, all wearing Rolex timepieces. None of the 3 knew what model Rolex watch they were wearing ! they had no idea and they all kept their watches at their waste side during our conversations. I later spoke to man wearing an Omega Speedmaster moonwatch, he took the watch off handed it to me as he described the watches history and the calibre of the mechanism.

Many Tilex models having such poor lume on the hand set, 3 oclock due to cyclops and 12 die to the crown is pretty pathetic from a company with such hype , recognition and prestige. They make a lot of mistakes and generally just take the piss out of us like Toyota does. But things will turn one day .

The author really is no collector 🤷🏻‍♂ One doesn't say "Day-Date four one" as you don't say "Intel fourhundredeightysix" or "Boeing sevenhundred..." On a DJ 41 Rolesor is a true classic and no modern design choice that is disturbing. The off proportions of it's 41 size (case, dial, bezel) are as irritating as they were on the DD II. Point missed 😂 Oh, THAT is silver? I always thought that's called 'champagne dial' or 'gold' 🤔 The 11.000 m depth Sea-Dweller has no date window, why is it shown ? No, an automatic rotor is not mind-blowing anymore 😆nor is an antimagnetic hairspring. Which Yacht-Master? I can't see it, covered by the text. You don't own a yacht? Then don't get a YM. You miss a broader view on the world... only because your world is small doesn't mean others is too☝🏼
