Hi Lily, I have no words to describe the importance I place on your story and how thankful I am that you are willing to share such deeply traumatizing events with the world. So first of all thank you, thank you, thank you. I have so many questions but one thing I always wonder is how you and other survivors were able to lead such positive, productive and full lives after such trauma. What was it like for you the first five years after liberation? Is it that you were swept up in searching for your family and how to rebuild your life that helped? Was it having such a large community of survivors at that time to band together with and give each other strength? I just cannot imagine going through what you went through and cannot imagine returning to normal life and being so well adjusted as you and so many holocaust survivors seem to be. I know this is a long question and appreciate any response you have time for. Thank you again for sharing your story. I appreciate you so much. -Kareem

Others as you and many well know, were not so fortunate. My ancestor Simon arrived in New York. He had sold everything to pay for the voyage. I am very happy to hear you tell your story and encourage us. נאכאמאל, אין נאמען פון דער משפחה וויינבערג, דאנק איך דיר, גוטע דאמע. You already answered a question which I pondered, whether I could endure some current hardships. Yes, never give up. When my father and grandmother went to find relatives in Germany, they found nothing. Only a cemetery destroyed by bulldozers. I wish you and your family long happy life.

doesn't matter if some people dislike jews, they were/are human beings, nobody had the right to do what they did to the jewish people, i so wish i was a liberating soldier in WW2, i wouldn't have held back with those Nazi filth, glad you survived Lily, good luck to you
