The professionalism of the club, the owners and the people in charge is most likely what convinced Paul to join NUFC. Throughout the Ashworth debacle, the club held themselves in high stead, didn't do any ridiculous press releases (unlike Jim Rat & Manure) and ploughed on with the plan regardless. I'm convinced the professionalism of our club finally convinced Paul to join. We are elite.

As a West Ham fan I would love to know what happened between Paul Mitchell and West Ham, his very good mates with Mark Noble and was in the frame for the job at West Ham, really did rate him but for some reason they went for Tim Steidten, personally think you have got one of the best there.

Like any great business you lose people but u replace with the best ..same with players...do not expect nufc to not sell isak or bruno or Gordon of we get a 150 million offer.. its good business that helps us improve. If we could get 3 strikers in for isak...picked by Paul....we will improve massively. Nufc fans must get used to movement in squad...as to improve we have to sell if high offers come in. However Paul will massively improve us...he is better than ashworth by far....man U will regret this big time. Paul has huge global knowledge and contacts.

I know it's a fantasy game but his stats on FM23 are epic. Compared to Ashworth and Friedman, knows more countries. Signed arguably more players who have become "big" names. Has worked at more "big" clubs. What a coup. What an upgrade. Absolutely loving the way our owners do business. No leaks. No fuss. No messing around. Just BAM. Pure style. You lot are clueless. Ten Hag won 2 trophies which for Newcastle you would have to go back 69 years to have that. Finished 3rd first season and had ridiculous injuries and huge decisions against us near every week in second season which stopped us playing the way we wanted and without that would have finished alot higher. He was also managing under the glazers who didn't give a shit. No proper structure either. Ten Hag shits all over howe. Oh and Mitchell wanted the real utd. We just didn't offer him what he wanted. Oh and how is Mitchell doing now lol. Sold no one and only signed Osula while Ashworth is buying 8 and selling near double figures. Convincing top talents like Yoro and Obi-Martin to join us while Mitchell isn't just having 1 pair of pants pulled down but his entire wardrobe over guehi.

I would say that's a reasonable concern Mandy. No one want to hear stories like that regarding our top stars. However I really think its been blown well out of proportion. Even if there is some element of truth that Gordon was happy with the link, I wouldn't be overly concerned. Its his boyhood club, it would have been a nice feeling knowing the club you supported rate you as a player and desire your services. But logically, he is in the best possible place for his career. He is a starter week in week out, plays in a disciplined established system which he flourish's in, has a great relationship with the fans and understands the stability/potential of the project. If Newcastle wanted to sell him to Liverpool I'm sure he wouldn't block the move, but at the same time, there's no discernible reason I can see as to why he would be unhappy remaining a toon player for many years. And perhaps most importantly, Newcastle definitely do not want to sell him!

If his head is turned and he goes then we’ll get about £100M and can replace him and put the extra money to other areas. We will have to do things like that to improve over the coming years. I don’t want him to leave but if he does I’d trust the owners to do their very best to replace him with as good a player or better.

We need 2 players in every position, if Gordon was moved to the right we’d still have to buy a player to cover for Barnes. Although Gordon can play on the right he’s better on the left so the best thing to do is keep them there, have both Barnes and Gordon be good competitive for each other, rotate when needed and buy a decent right winger
