julianlee2 Homolagation, that's what the WRC needs, I actually think the Yaris WRC looks utterly ridiculous, but it's also my favourite of the new age WRC cars. Toyota has made a limited edition Yaris but it's a FWD, superchargered 1.8 with, so nothing like a WRC car.

There's just something about the 90s JDM cars that makes them really special. I can't quite put my finger on what it is. We had Evos, STIs, Skylines GT-Rs, Silvias, Supras, Integras, RX-7s and what not. It makes me sad that all those cars (and days) are gone.
@mappy-59346 жыл бұрын
The last sentence in your statement answers why. Nowadays they make stuff for economy and pretty much have extracted all the personality their pre-2000's counterparts had. They stopped being reliable tuners and started to be the cars you buy for your kids. Most people dont even know that honda's civics used to be/could be souped up for racing;Spoons. Same with subaru/mitsubishi and their rallying scene.On top of all that, they were affordable. Look at the GTR now, compared to its r32/33 counterparts, even adjusting for inflation, they were cheaper and still are. Plus in japan, their car ownership tax process eventually causes the cars they own to be scrapped because itd be financial suicide to continue the ownership. Youll have to read more on that though as I only know very little about it. TL;DR: JDM went to Economy groupings and put off their racing group(what made them) to people with who have money out the ass to by these, once, exhalted cars;Exclusivity.

I love these Subaru cars!!! That low centre of gravity around the corners, no need to understand that they are Rally legends. But as a guy, that fix his own car on a sidewalk in front of the house I would go for EVO. Boxter engine is hard to work on, as to do for example a head gasket replacement you have to take the engine out, wherewith 4G63 you just go with it. Even the turbo is mounted in the front so you can replace it quickly if you running on a track. Well thank you if you read this comment in full, there is no such thing as a RED or BLUE. No matter what you pick they are legends and badass! ;)

Recently I come across 90's cars driven by young people quite often. I don't know how the other countries are like, but Japan is like that, actually it is more often than late 2000's. I think it means even young Japanese don't really get atrracted to recent sport cars. I hope not only Japanese companies, but also car companies in the world think about that again. Young people's passion to sport cars will never change.
@og.takumi6 жыл бұрын
Very true, but those new strict emission/enviorment laws around the world are killing sport cars out. Many goverments and big companies are focusing on building cheap enconmic cars and electric cars instead of performance cars. Time has changed, it's just sad :(
@MrSneakmind6 жыл бұрын
This is beautiful, and true. I have been to Japan all my life for vacations, and yet only much later in my life I started to really love cars, and when I went back to Japan, excited to notice all the cars I would now see, I look at the cars and am ... apathetic. Kei cars are cool but I thought everyone would be driving cool cheap sports cars for some reason. Silly, and wrong. I did see a LanEvo though, and a stanced WRX. Maybe next time I'll see more. As for modern car companies, I think they are starting to care about enthusiasts, with GT86 and more new sports cars. Although Subaru and Mitsubishi will never be back again I don't think so at least :(
