More classic Capital Radio jingles, plus the great voice of the much-missed Roger Scott with Capital Flatshare, the Hitline and Traffic Reports, and a couple of vintage adverts too ("Get down to Our Price" & "Weetabix is unbeatabix").
FIVE volumes of Capital Jingles now uploaded on my channel!

Roger Scott was and will always be my favourite radio DJ. Much missed. This brings back so many happy memories of listening as a teenager to Capital.

Roger was a brilliant DJ, and played an important role in my teenage years. His Friday night show Cruisin’ was essential listening, and I always had the microphone of my cassette recorder pressed up to the radio speaker. In the late 70s and early 80s there was a Ted and Rockabilly revival and he helped sustain that. His promotion of amazing music gave me and countless others great pleasure. Thanks Roger. Keep on Rockin’. RIP.

I listened to his show a lot around the late end of the 70s and very early 80s. Huge fan of all things Bruce Springsteen & the E Street Band. It was sad to read in the papers of his passing at the age of just 39. RIP.

Roger was just brilliant; a true broadcaster's broadcaster. Often imitated but never equalled. He made it all sound so easy which it isn't. Bless you Roger, you made my day every day!

Loved the guy. Springsteen's greatest fan who would always play one of his songs on his show. Oh it was magic as we'd anticipate what song he'd play. Very sadly missed.

I lived in London in 1977 and I used to listen to Roger Scott every day. I loved his show - especially “The Three O’Clock Thrill”. Wonderful deejay. Gone too soon. A legend.

I'd forgotten about the Hitline - this brought that back. I do remember those Our Price ads - and the never-ending Queensway furniture sale ones to Hot Chocolate's Every 1's a winner. I came here because I remembered both Roger and the weekly early evening People's Choice segment they did where they had five members of the public on the phone lines while they played five brand new singles, and the five people who got on the show would give a mark out of 10 for each song, maybe or amybe not accompanied by a quick comment. The marks would then be totted up and the song that won the most marks declared the winner and being played again. I remember the winners in 1979 including Gloria Gaynor's I Will Survive and Nick Lowe's Cruel to Be Kind,as well as a scattering of songs that didn't become hits such as a Bob Seger song called Till It Shines. I listened to Capital a hell of a lot between 1975 and 1981,which was its vintage era, then sporadically as it went through a few phases, some better than others.

used to listen to Roger Scott the moment I got home from school - unmissable. He'd play club 12" records instead of radio edits and, like me, was a huge Elvis fan too. He championed dance and urban music of the time often playing USA imports and DJ mixes too

In a parallel universe, right here, right now, Rogers there, Kenny as well, and all the capital jocks that have gone to to big studio in the sky,, playing the hits, for us all to listen to, and keeping us all entertained. He was (and in my mind still is) one of the great jocks, never hard on the ear, a true professional. Greatly missed.

Used to love his Three O' Clock Thrill of course - and he kindly played Ray Charles' 'Georgia On My Mind' as a special request for my Mum and Dad's 30th Wedding Anniversary in 1980. And as a teenager, the essential Hit Line at tea-time was always so exciting! Loved Roger Scott - one of the greatest.

Roger was a gem to listen to back then. He was greatly influenced by the American music scene. I sometimes thought that he was solely responsible for introducing Bruce Springsteen to the U.K. And how he couldn't wait for December when each night he would play Bruce's Santa Clause is Back in Town. Happy days. I miss his voice on the Radio. Johnny Walker must be one of the very last of the originals left.

Capital 194 was a breath of fresh air after several years of 'Radios 1 & 2'. It had some of the freewheeling style of the pirate stations and the faster pace of US rock radio. Roger Scott and Kenny Everett were really the anchors of that format. Hard to believe that the station descended into the corporate inspired drivel that it broadcasts today.
