I've volunteered at PIR (Portland International Raceway) for years, all the track marshals are volunteers. The reality is, some of them are just slow and sometimes there's things going on with the drivers that the commentary crew just don't know. If a car is leaking fluids, cleanup takes awhile, especially if it's oil or coolant. Please do keep in mind without the volunteers, there would be no legal racing at our local tracks. If you live close to one, go check it out. SCCA events are always looking for help. It's fun, fast and they usually provide a pretty kick ass lunch.

@@budracin8guy07 That makes sense, I wish they raced at Pocono, I live in Harrisburg PA, I have to many back problems and need a scooter to get around but I would've loved to have been a volunteer, hell free race free food what's not to love, I'm just glad I found Trans Am racing again after they jumped off NBCSN network. It is my favorite racing EVER!! Thanks Jer. The Goodwood Races are awesome as well

@@garyslentzii2796 awww the 'tricky triangle' unfortunately that track will never see an IMSA or Trans Am race because it's not a road or street course. The manufacturers dump a ton of money into development into those cars. NASCAR and IndyCar I'm sure will be regulars there for years to come. Even with a bad back your local track will find something meaningful for you to do on race day, even if it's just writing down car weights or measuring the rear spoiler. I'm now legally blind and they always got stuff I can do & the drivers and teams really appreciate us. And the free food....JACKPOT! Best of luck! Oh, I have been to your track for a NASCAR race in '99 when I lived in upstate New York. It was only about a 10 hour drive.

@@1933FORDV8 I honestly don't know. I haven't been there since '99 and never went into the infield or pit area. As long as it's sanctioned than who knows, I have no idea where SCCA runs around that area. When I lived in NY they ran at Watkins Glen but again, that's quite the distance from POCONO.

I'm about tired of you taking BIR off the schedule every few years! Your pansy drivers are too afraid to travel to a real track. And Road America is a dump so that is not an option. I wouldn't go to Road America if it was the last track on Earth!
