1 - You don't need to worry about security in Brazil, you can walk around in peace. Just keep an eye on your stuff in more crowded places, because some drug users take advantage of these opportunities, but in general it's safe! 2 - It is a tradition for people to sit on the stone of Arpoador and applaud the sunset every day.

Northern Rio de Janeiro State, you should visit Arraial do Cabo (Visit Prainhas do Pontal Beach), Cabo Frio (praia do Forte and Praia do Japonês - Also beaches). In these two places, the sea looks like the caribean, beautiful. After , spend a Weekend in Buzios that is the next city in the road. Great place to relax... smaller beaches, food restaurants and a Riviera vive. Definitelly cant miss these placês.

The statue of Tom Jobim, also known as Antonio Carlos Jobim, represents one of the greatest musicians who has ever lived! The Girl from Ipanema is one of many songs that he is famous for. If you are not familiar with his work, do yourself a big favor and look up and listen to his music. A few of his wonderful compositions are (English titles) Wave, One Note Samba, Corcovado, Waters of March, Passarim, Insensitive, Agua de Beber.

You should try.... Ilha da gigoia - Barra Praia da reserva and Grumari - Recreio Mureta da Urca, Praia Vernelha, Flutuante Rio - Urca Pedra do Sal, Museu do amanha, MAM, CCBB, Biblioteca Nacional, Passo Imperial, ...etc and Lapa - Centro

You should also cross the guanabara Bay via ferry and visit the Oscar Niemayer museu in the City of Niteroi. When there, you should also go to Parque da Cidade (best view of Rio sunset is amazing too) and the Itacoatiara Beach. Really Nice one day visit.

Another great video. The salami/meat that you had inside the tapioca is linguiça calabresa (calabresa sausage), a traditional Brazilian sausage that was created by italian immigrants while they were trying to localize italian sausage recipes to Brazilian tastes and ingredients. It is the Brazilian cuisine equivalent to pepperoni; however, while pepperoni is mostly limited to italian american dishes and, mostly, sandwiches, calabresa is widely used in a number of Brazilian dishes. In Ipanema there is one excellent Feiojada restaurant, Casa da Feijoada, in case you haven't been there... Also, clapping to the sunset is a tradition at Arpoador.

Better than Copacabana which sucks. But if i were you, just try out barra da Tijuca. Recreio.. Than Buzio which you could spend easily 5 days. If you want the countryside try Petropolis. My tips. Good luck

My dad lived for 65 years in Rio and was never robbed. I lived there for 4 years and got robbed once at (fake) gun point. The think is, a couple passing by car saw everything and the guy got out of the car and started running after the 2 guys. Brazilians eat cassava in so many different ways. We eat fried as french fries, just cooked in water with salt, cooked with meat (vaca atolada), as a soup (caldo de mandioca), as a flour (farofa, pirão), as starch (pão de queijo, tapioca), as a sauce (tucupi - fermented cassava juice). We eat even the leaves on a dish called "maniçoba". Cassava aways made part of the indigenous people diet, that's the reason is so used in our cuisine.

@@carlosespinoza2453 Yes, It is. Actually we love mashed potatoes. It is base for numerous of street food like coxinhas and others "salgados" (finger foods). We have a dish called "escondidinho" means "hidden", it's like a pie but we use mashed potatoes or mashed casava as a topping. In São Paulo state people eat hot dog with mashed potatoes lol. Some portuguese dishes remains in our culture like codfish (bacalhau) with potatoes. We eat a lot of sweet potatoes too and other types of potatoes. Like cassava, we eat potatoes baked, fried, cooked in water and salt, mashed. I can't forget the "batata palha" it's a really thin fried potato like a straws. Brazilian cuisine have a lot influences by european, african, oriental, arabian and indigenous, so it's difficult to explain a lot of our habits.

You guys should visit Pier Mauá (look for the Kobra graffiti), Museu do Amanhã, AquaRIO, RioStar (our London Eye), Sugar Loaf (try having lunch at Restaurante Terra Brasilis), Forte de Copacabana, Mureta da Urca, Teatro Municipal, Barra da Tijuca, Mirante Dona Marta (careful, it’s gorgeous but watch out for thieves), Ilha Fiscal and the Bothanical Gardens (right next to Parque Lage) 💚

You guys should visit the southern states as well. They aren't well known by foreign tourists but it worth it visiting for sure. I'm loving your channel... it's real....the only downside about it is that all your videos on brazil and especially Rio is making me so sad missing the best city in the world....oh how my heart longs to be back in Rio....been there many times over the years and even lived in Rio (Ipanema) for two years....thanks for taking me back down memory lane but now I wish I was there. Hope you guys spent some time checking out the shopping areas in Ipanema and Leblon...as well as some of the amazing restaurants in those neighborhoods. Another recommendation is São Conrado beach where the hang-gliders and paragliders land or Red beach (Praia Vermelha) next to Sugarloaf Mountain or even bar Urca to sit drinking beers with locals over a sunset. Not sure what the situation is like with covid etc so there may be some things that are perhaps not quite the same as before the pandemic hit. Enjoy your travels and I've just subscribed -)

Better than Copacabana. Try out Barra da Tijuca. For the base camp. Than go to Buzios which is the seaside. And Petropolis the countryside. Good luck
