If I pay for a higher class ticket that includes an included bag, how does that effect a refund for delayed luggage. There doesn't seem to be any real compensation for taking the delayed flight even though there is considerable inconvenience being delayed for hours.

May sound good but check the compensation rule for Canada and the EU $400 for 3 hour delay compensation.

Most Americans can't even afford a $400 emergency, so how are they going to pay to rebook if it can take 2 to 3 weeks to get refunded.

Automatic Refunds are due within 7 business days, not 2 to 3 weeks. He CLEARLY stated that more than once I believe. And if you can’t afford to account for a $400 “emergency” you probably shouldn’t be traveling at all.

Nothing is free. As much as I like the changes, the cost to airlines will go up, which in turn means even higher ticket prices. We will see.

Pathetic - better, but pathetic. Compared with EU regulations these are a disgrace. The money returned will not come anywhere near rebooking costs. It’s like putting a band aid over the wound when your leg is severed. It’s just that what was in place before was beyond disgraceful. Why are you so excited about it?
