5 star is great but there are lotsssss of other nice chicken rice places too!! Near where you guys stayed there's a Dunman Food Centre where an elderly couple sells fantastic chicken rice and porridge too! Glad you had a nice last day here!

Five Star chicken rice is far from being one of the best Hainanese chicken rice in Singapore at all, because they use the very lean and sinewy kampung chicken, so it's small, less fat and more chewy. Their rice is also rather mushy and oily, so quite far from rhe average Singaporean's definition of excellent chicken rice. You need to try Loy Lee, Wee Nam Lee, Tian Tian, Ah Tai, Sergeant Hainanese or Boon Tong Kee chicken rice. Really any other popular chicken rice stall in the hawker centres can taste better. Just FYI if you're ever in SG again. Just Google and you'll find excellent ones on nearly every street! 😅
