Items Forbidden Onboard (directly from MSC): "Port Security has the duty to search Guests and luggage to confiscate any article internationally known as dangerous for the safety and security of Guests, Crew and ship. Such items will be confiscated and not returned. Alcohol, firearms, sharp objects such as blades and scissors, flammable and explosive material, items with heating elements or open flames (e.g. clothing irons, hair irons. kettles, hotplates, candles, incense), drones. If explosive material, guns or illegal drugs are detected, law enforcement will be immediately alerted. MSC MSC Cruises will be forced to deny access to any guests not complying with these mandated regulations. In the interest of health and safety, beverages and food (including partially eaten or home cooked items) may not be brought on board either. Exception: dry, packaged and commercially produced foods. I have cruised twice on MSC. I have never seen those luggage restrictions anywhere, nobody has weighted my luggage. At the terminal I have never seen any adds about the weight restriction. Of course, the firearms, explosives, and other hazardous materials signs are everywhere. I have brought my Cuban coffee maker on board, my hair iron, and brush drier without any problem. Of course, my luggage is never at 50 pounds, but how do they know? There are no scales around to check the weight. I would worry about these limitations if I am flying before my cruise, but more because of the airline and not because of MSC cruise line.

Cruised on MSC numerous times and they do have the luggage restrictions mentioned. This information is included in the small print of your holiday contract and is on the MSC app under important information and FAQ.

No razors or other items with a blade? No hand wash or other Covid protection that includes alcohol? Given that suites can accommodate up to 5 people, an 8 item limit is less than one case and one carry-on each. Have MSC thought this out?

I book an inside cabin. I couldn't put that much luggage in that small a room anyway! I'll be damned if I'm shelling out for ferociously expensive personal items from the onboard shops.

Hi. Thanks for the info!! This will be our first time on MSC with family if 4. The weight restrictions don't seem resonable, so they really weigh them in and will they keep luggage behind? I'm trying our best to stay within the limits but so far not looking good 😕

@wtpg4209 There will be four people. That means 50 pounds per person. Depending on how long the trip is, when it is, and where they are going, it may well be a problem.

Jason great in Vid as always. Couple of questions. #1. Does MSC allow 100ml wine like or 12 pack of soda like Carnival? #2. I go carry on only...which is a Rolling carry on and a Back pack. My wife However not so much so She has a rolling carry on and a mid size rolling luggage probably 26H x 18w. Will she have to check that in or can that be brought on board with check in? As we sail out of Galveston on Carnival we usually don't have an issue. But wanted to check about MSC. Thanks for the Vids .

We have cruised mostly Carnival 💎in September and have had 3 pieces of luggage demolished and only 1 time a 9 pm delivery of a bag. I’d say that is a great track record! Flying my record sucks.
