Most likely none of that plot stuff mentioned will happen aside from Maria and Shadow tbh... Seems to be following SA2's plot somewhat with the Sonic movie universe's already established touches and real life characters. The villains are Eggman/Dr. Robotnik, Gerald Robotnik, Shadow, and Biolizard/Finalhazard (given away by Shadow and Gerald being there). And by the end we should see Super Sonic return again, as well as Super Shadow for the first time...If it follows SA2's plot for the finale scenes.

I'm hoping, if they do add ANY of these other characters (Rouge, Amy, Metal Sonic, Silver) that one or two of them only show up in the end-credits as a teaser for a fourth movie. Ain't no way they can do *every* character justice with Shadow in the mix. Rouge could maybe work fine, since she's usually more of a supporting character anyways, but definitely not Metal Sonic or Silver. Or maybe the new Shadow game coming out will give a good in for Silver, since a lot of that plot will involve Shadow trying to save Maria by changing the timeline.

Things are very different in this version of the Sonic universe. There doesn't need to be time travel, GUN can just make Shadow like they did before, but clone him from Sonic. Robotnik calls Gerald 'Papa' in the trailer, so Maria could be his niece and will still be Gerald's Grand-daughter. Will she die? Her death is vital to Shadow's turn to darkness. I don't know if Amy or Rouge will show. Their arrival would seriously detract from Shadow's presence. Silver's popularity in the franchise is kind of mid, and Sega has better things to promote.
