Akalis may have gained over BJP in terms of winning a seat but in terms of vote share, BJP (18.56%) has outperformed akalis (13.42%). And if the discontent against AAP govt. and decimation of akalis continues, BJP could witness further gains in 2027 assembly elections. They have made inroads into the political arena. At the same, you can never guess the mood and mind of a Punjabi voter.

I personally think that these LS results will have little impact on Vidhan Sabha of Punjab for 2027. A lot of AAP voters shifted to INC for the LS, in a similar vein to how Kerala voters routinely shift from LDF to UDF in the LS, in order to try and keep out the BJP. The idea being that more seats to the Congress is likely to be better for stability at the centre. LDF has won two consecutive state elections in Kerala, in spite of two drubbings in LS, I think the situation is similar in PB in this regard.

The problem Jyoti Arora and these panelists or any media house fails to focus on is that rise of Bhai Amritpal and Bhai Sarabjeet is because no Healing touch has been given to punjab from 1947. There wounds are scratched every time any law or policy is imposed on them without consulting them or their psyche. All the so-called “rational” media has a different take on Kashmir (which is soft-hearted) than Panjab. Eventually, panjab will find its way through experiments

I’m personally so dissatisfied with AAP and Bhagwant Mann. I supported them religiously before he slapped NSA on Amritpal. We been fighting for the release of Bandi Singh for a very long time and bhagwant mann himself supported the release as well. But now when he was in office he made the same mistake. If Amritpal commit any crime then let the court decide at least give him a fair trial. You can’t use these draconian laws in democracy. I will never vote for AAP and let the next election come we will uproot AAP from punjab completely.

Grew up seeing the tribune on our doorstep during the 60s and 70s. Discouraged to hear this level of discussion from people who claim to be representing punjabis through media. Skimming the real issues, using cliches, talking of headlines, lack of in depth understanding.........reporters from Bihar like Ravish and Ajit Anjum probably have a better understanding of the punjabi/sikh phyche and history. Grey headed madam in burgundy red - yes we can make out that you carry weight but you could have conducted it more amicably. Probably you should have joined the army as you sound too overbearing, impatient and instructional. Please observe Wire as to how an engaging conversation develops in a non threatening work environment and evolves into a problem solving debate. Please spare us viewers from your corporate like business meetings. We expect the Tribune to grow and evolve as we also grey into our future. We citizens have entrusted responsibility in you the media to be our eyes, ears and watchdogs..... and not to be ombudsmen.
