This was such a nice thing for you to do for your beginner reader friend. This isn’t just a walkthrough, it is a an example of a wonderful introduction to tarot as a whole. A short and sweet tarot class that I wish I’d had a long time ago. Plus, a great deck to work with...Luneaea really outdid herself on this one, it’s her masterpiece IMO. The only thing I find missing from most beginner books and classes is how cards interact and change depending on the influence of surrounding cards, tying them together, whether you use a spread or not. Not only Elemental dignities, but relationships between cards in general. Maybe that would be a great focus for one of your themed chats :) Thank you Kelly for all you share with us. Linda C. I just got this deck donated to the channel and I will say you are accurate. The cards will indeed be thoroughly used above the book and the box. Although it’s on the thinner side, the card stock does shuffle nicely. The art is magical and just for the beauty of it and the connection I’ve made intuitively with it, I will tolerate the thinner card stock. The guide book is absolutely yummy! As a book lover, I’m all about it. The strength card in this deck also reminds me of the strength in the Hidden Realm. I love the animal medicine of the wolf over the lion for this card to be honest... (personal bias because I have the wolf as a power animal). Thank you for sharing your thorough review. It was very nice to see this amazing deck from another set of eyes. It made me love it even more... 🧙🏽♀️💜🌲🌲🌲

I absolutely love this deck and I didn't expect for it to mean as much to me as it did. I ordered it because I saw some cards and thought they were pretty and when it arrived I didn't even open it right away, but when I did Wow!!! It was so beautifully thought out, and so special to have the White Hart invite you to take part in the journey and then set you free at the end to continue on. The Council of the Animals as Judgement actually made me cry a little, because I see the Creator through all the animals of the world and the earth itself and it makes me sick to see how we have taken it over and taken for granted so much of it. I love it for all the reasons you describe. You never know when you will find a deck that you feel was made for you, but this is a very special one for me. I am happy with the card stock and size because riffle shuffling is part of my process, but I did improve the feel of the cards by edging them in Distress Ink Forest Moss. Once completely dry it thickened the edges and gave the overall feel of the deck a little more substance in my opinion and it was the absolutely perfect color. I love the book and don't usually keep going back to the books but this one is a treasure and part of the experience and even though I'm not new to Tarot I will keep referencing it for awhile I'm sure.

I guess I'm in the minority of preferring a lighter, thinner card stock. Makes it easier for me to handle. I can actually easily hold the entire deck in my one hand. My "This Might Hurt Tarot" is gorgeous but difficult for me to handle. My "Morgan Greer" deck may have cheap flimsy cards but it feels great, I don't get distracted so much by handling the cards. It is so much thinner that I sometimes worry I'm missing cards, because the deck itself (when stacked) is not nearly as tall as most of my other decks.

I loved this deck out of 40 I have seen on-line, but I guess it is not really good if you want to learn tarot, the book looks beautiful but I guess not enough information(like the meaning of numbers). A thin card has nothing to do with the card stock itself. I learned a lot of what I'm about to share from the time when I got heavily into M.T.G. (i.e. Magic the Gathering) back in the day. The quality of the card stock actually comes down to, first and foremost, whether or not the card stock has a core. And secondly, how well the core is made. A card that was designed for wear and tear has three parts; the front, the back, and the core in the center (i.e. it looks like a thin black line between the front and the back along the ridge, it's usually most easily spotted near the corners of a card with the naked eye). You can put the thinnest paper on each side of a core as long as the core is well made and it will not make any difference whatsoever. If I can bend the card from top to bottom, making sure that each of those ends actually touch each other without the card folding or creasing, I know two things immediately. The first is automatically that the card stock actually came from a printing press, and not a cheap distributor and also it's not a forgery copy, because you're not going to get that kind of quality anywhere else. And secondly, I have no fear whatsoever in riffle shuffling and bridging the cards because they were designed to do that a countless number of times and should last a lifetime or more. And I can tell you from experience that if a supposed legitimate card folds or creases while riffle shuffling and/or bridging, the card is a fake, otherwise they're being extremely harsh on the cards, or more than likely someone is trying to purposefully fold or crease the cards just so they can return them to get their money back after reviewing a deck. These are card facts because the chances of actual real card stock folding or creasing is less than the chances of a person human combusting unless a card has water damage. Human combustion is due to the rare chance of actually coming into contact with an atom that's at the point of ignition. One of these kind of atoms exists within every square acre of area across the entire cosmos. And the chances of actually coming into physical contact with one of these atoms is every 1 in 10 to the 23rd power. It's where an electron has failed to keep someone or something from actually physically coming into contact with the atom itself. Another way to know the legitimacy of a card is to beforehand know the dimensions of what the card is supposed to be approximately because every cut will be slightly off no matter how even the cut looks to the naked eye. The reason for wanting to know the dimensions of a card beforehand is because you also want to know how much the card is approximately supposed to weigh. From the dimensions you can know how much the card weighs. It's length * width * height / 3. You convert the result into the proper weight unit cubed; for example, centimeters3 into grams3. And finally, the last way to know the legitimacy of a card, is to use a jeweler's loop with at least a x30 magnification. What you're looking for is what's called "rosettes". They look like circular shapes in the ink on the card. There is only one way to get rosettes on a card in the ink. That's through a printing press and always remember that black ink goes on last and black ink should look as if it floats above the rest of everything else.
@TheTruthinStory2 жыл бұрын
Wow, thank you so much for that explanation! I have bent only one deck in all my decks, and that is because it was lovely thick cardstock as a Bridge sized Lenormand deck, but no core, and in mini form riffle shuffling it I bent two cards. I prefer good playing card stock with a core over any high GSM weight. Fascinating information, thank you again :)
@wanderinghedge2 жыл бұрын
@@TheTruthinStory I prefer good quality playing card stock too. I forgot to mention that opposite is true in thickness of paper. Making the paper too thick can cause the card to fold or crease. At the very least it will cause the outside paper to crinkle in the center while bending a card if the card stock is too thick. I would much prefer card stock to be thinner than to be thicker. Secondly, the rosettes can be seen with the naked eye, but it's difficult to do. Often times I find it easiest to do with the naked eye by looking at the greens and browns. They look like tiny white dots with rings around them. And once you see them you can never not so them again if you're looking for them with the naked eye because then you know what you're looking for. However, it's best to have a jeweler's loop on hand to check it to be absolutely certain, because a home ink jet printer is not going to give the same kind of results due to the fact that a printing press puts one layer of ink on at a time and a home ink jet printer makes everything uniform (i.e. and, yes, there are people even within the tarot community who forge entire decks to sell to other people, I seen it happen to a couple people here on KZbin, and I think that may be the real reason people are complaining so much about the thinness of cards in their reviews and reports about them).

+Amanda Estabrook There are several other quick walk-throughs of this deck on KZbin. Kelly is widely respected in the tarot community and she is well known for her very detailed, long and thorough walk-throughs of decks and that’s what people come to her for. There is no reason to bring such an incredibly rude and negative attitude into this space, if your attention span is too short for this video than move on and find one more your style. Otherwise, watch the video and maybe learn something. Kelly has a lot of knowledge and wisdom to share. She has probably taught me more about tarot and it’s symbolism than anyone else and I know I am not alone in that. This is the last place you need to bring your disrespect to. Also, she spent maybe 2 minutes comparing the quality to the Tarot of the Hidden Realms which is a well known deck by the same publisher. She did this for the purpose of letting readers know the quality and durability, which matters a lot to many readers. Clearly you are incredibly new to this world, I hope tarot helps you grow up and learn a little patience.

Persephone I am not *new* to any of it, and I'm not impatient. I'm saying this video is click bait. I don't mind if she does a long and thorough review of the deck to give a lot of information. I'm inferring that she should name her video something appropriate to what the video actually contains. It should be called something like "Comparison Review of (Deck A) and (Deck B)". She was obviously confused on what the meaning of the word "walkthrough" is in reference to a tarot deck video. My complaint is with the false advertising that lead me to this video, not with the quality of the video itself. And as you said, I'm sure there are plenty of other KZbin videos like what I'm looking for, but if everyone mislabels their videos when I used specific keywords for the type of video I'm looking for, it could be awfully hard to find them now, couldn't it?
