Jazz5608 Official I'm a terrible bionicle fan in that case. When I finally built the figures and whatnot, they didn't last more than 24 hours. I soon broke them all down and threw them into a big bin to use for future MOCing. Zaktan lasted a whole month, but that was only because I was anticipating getting the rest of the piraka, which never happened.

G2 has a lot of callbacks to G1. Like Tahu Master's Hau between a mix of the Hau Mata and Hau Nuva. Or the protector's mask being based on Toa Mahri Jaller

That specific Maxilos that was in the Pit was possessed by Makuta Teridax, and still looks like every other Maxilos robot. Therefore, nobody has any reason to suspect anything unless they already know.

Maybe not in lore, but thet *definitely* did that on puprose when designing the set. The color blocking for the red and gunmetal gray is match for match what it was with the 03 Makuta set. Not only that, the torso and shoulders look like a much more proportional take on the original Makuta set's torso

I just realized something: with the wide upper body,curved shoulders, pistons for the sides and the squarish face/mask, the Maxilose Robot looks similar to the Great Spirit Robot. wonder if we can infer that the maxilos robots were built by the great beings themselves as opposed to being creations of the matoran.

I'm pretty confident in saying that Spinax also introduced a recolor of the rahkshi leg pieces. The original rahkshi used old dark grey, and as far as I can determine, Spinax was the first set to use them in new dark blueish-grey.

This is the only set I have from the classic Bionicle series that is still intact. Only thing I did was double the length of his chain with the ones from Hewki Mahri. Jaller Mahri is close, but I completely took out his crab, gave him his cordak blaster, and removed his tubes. But I still love this set. Glad that after all these years and two moves between houses with little protection, both Maxilos and Spinax are favorites.

3:42 Actually that specific colour is only in this set. This set uses "Flat Silver" while every other set to use that piece uses "Pearl Light Silver". So it was the first with that colour, and the last.

Fun fact about spinax’s feet they were later used on a hero factory set in I believe 2011 which was the last time they have been used to my knowledge. That same hero factory set was also the last set to use those rubbery and bendable minifig spears

The articulation is almost unparalleled, the custom weapon on Maxilos is sweet, and the amount of gun-metal colored parts is off the charts! SPINax is a cutie, what with his big ole teeth, and overall, the two of them form a nice pair that is a MUST HAVE for any Gen1 Bionicle fan.
