The favorite Bionicle set ever. I really regret letting my parents sell all my sets when I became a teenager and lost complete interest in Bionicle. All this nostalgia I've had lately for the franchise makes want to go back to buying all the old Generation 1 characters for just collectibles.

The blades on the back legs on my Fenrakk fell out all the time. Jamming toilet paper in the joint to keep them in was my first part "mod".

That's the same thing I did with the mask on toa Ignika from '08. The axle joints for masks that we got with maxilos, ignika, and the mistika were too loose.

Rick Barnes they just stick out... i don't see why they can't just use black or tan pin pieces... course it's useful if you drop them though cause you can easily see them... maybe that's why lego uses them so much even though they don't have blue in the actual body of the sets (just for little kids to not lose things)

Isn't it time to retire "vibrancy", or rather lack thereof, as a con altogether? With this set, we're now 5 years past the first line of bionicles and its straight mata colors. It would better serve a review to consider the colors of a specific set in relation to themselves rather than a preference for specific color tones. Case in point: Umbra, whose vibrant but mismatched yellow, green and silver color schemes still hurt my eyes to this day. On the other hand, Vezon's deep black and silver colors along with his tattered cape definitively drive home the whole demonic hellfire, death metal look which the designers were clearly trying to convey. This set's colors compliment each other rather than clash, and I think this is the better point to look for in future reviews.

The sword bits on the back legs of my Fenrakk fall out too. They did even straight out of the box back in 06, so it was not wear and tear.

I honestly got more enjoyment out of Vezon than I did from Fenrakk. Fenrakk is intimidating and his head is a riot XD. But his build, though impressive in function, wasn't to fun to look at. Now, about that 'con' pointed out at 5:42. If you don't like it (anybody), just keep in mind that Vezon had nothing to do during his early days of guarding the Mask of Life. Therefore, you could say that he was starting to get out of shape.

When I was like 5 my dad cut a long string and tied Fenrakk with it to the ceiling fan so that he and Vezon could fly. You should definitely try it sometime

One other con I found with Fenrakk. The gunmetal socket joints on his back legs are very fragile. When I first took Fenrakk apart to build Kardas. Almost all of them broke on both ends making them very loose and affecting Kardas' stability in the legs

I always thought that the brown on the spear was a good addition. Even if you didn’t know the actual story behind the Spear of Fusion, the fact that it didn’t match the rest of the color scheme gave you the impression that the spear wasn’t HIS weapon. It obviously belonged to someone else before him.

the back leg pieces that hold the back feet might not have very stable axle connections. my tahu mata does not have a stable axle connection in his sword arm and i have checked that it is the arm and not the sword. this might be a case by case issue but it might not be.

How is Vezon and Kardas technicality? It sounds as if you Eljay should have reviewed Ultimate Dume and Voporak. Aside that I think another con this set could have is that the weight of the set could kinda bend/break the swords the duo stands on.

If you could answer this in a Q&A video, that would be greatly appreciated! Love the recap reviews! I can't wait for 2007 and 2008, with that year having 28 sets! Also, do you know why Lego switched to red axles and blue axle-pegs, if they are eye-searing? I personally think that it was a HORRIBLE move by Lego, and it's use of those parts on Bionicle sets was overall, a bad idea. One more question, what is your favorite year for Bionicle, and why? I really liked 2008, even though I have no sets from that year. :(

I can confirm that the looseness of the blades on his hind legs is a case-by-base thing with later iterations of the Mata arms. Mine remained tight.

Additional con: Vezon's cape is made of a material that catches dust very easily. If you're one of those people who leave sets out in the open, it will turn grey before you know it.

It’s a Great set. Very large and really menacing. But I don’t understand why he has shorter legs at the back than the front. That decreases stability rapidly, but together they look great! Certainly a menacing and solid set!

I like the bionicle proportions being weird, it just screams bionicle in my opinion. It makes bionicle what it is. They’re not supposed to be humans. So why do they need to have the same proportions as us? I like the way this character is. He’s phenomenal.

Now that I think about it it would've been nice if vezon's "helmet" and the ignikia could be seperated from one another. when you build mocs it looks great s Skakdi head but as mask for a toa or Matoran it just looks weird without som very creative building to I dunno make it look like hair or something maybe?
