I always plan a monthly theme for one area of my booth. Right now it's vintage camping, the coolers 1950s, binoculars, cameras, transistor radio, Hudson bay blankets and thermoses (plaid). Next month will be a 1960s bar with Blendo, cocktail shakers, colorful stirrers, coconut tiki guys and all the 60s glasses in atomic design. Folks are buying and when I was at my booth this week it was mostly peeps in their 20s, I love That! Great stuff you found again!

Yes! That is the J.L. Hudson Co department store in downtown Detroit on Woodward Avenue. I worked downtown in the early 70's and for years went to Hudson's often during my lunch hour. Not necessarily to purchase something - but it was an 'experience' and something we'll never see the likes of again. For years I witnessed the unfurling of the 'world's largest flag' on Flag Day. Standing there on Woodward Avenue, listening to the music and watching it ceremoniously unfurl - it was a Kleenex moment. I made a point to go to Plaza Antiques today and I'm happy to report I am now the owner of the framed postcard. The last year it was unfurled was 1976 - the year of the Bicentennial. Thank you for a piece of important history. ❤

What a great haul!! That sweet little bottle with the v on it is for vinegar, there was probable a little one like it with an o....for oil.....

Oh that makes sense. Thank you…I have a cork for it I will add tomorrow. Thank you!

The V on the small ewer stood for "Vinegar". It would have likely come with a matching one with an "O" for "Oil". I'm really enjoying your videos, and your booth looks wonderful!

I can’t sell rockers, but I like them. I recently found a really cool old one that was so cheap I had to buy it. When it doesn’t sell (my full expectation), it will reside on my big wraparound porch.

I love your videos!! I have a large booth in a multi dealer shop and have learned so much from you. I struggle when thrifting with not liking things I see and thinking “no one would buy that” but you have taught me to think outside the box! I’ve been doing well with selling things that aren’t necessarily my style. Always look forward to your next video!!

I know what you mean when I get stumped on a look in my space, I take it all out group little vignettes together then replace them into the empty spots. By taking the focus off the booth, I can put together items I would normally not think of. In fact one of the vignettes I made a few years back, I did at home and snapped a picture of it. When I had a show in a huge arena with many other vendors, I entered my picture for the cover of the flyer postcard they had printed up and I won that spot on the front. You never know when something good happens when your being creative. Cannot wait to see what goodies you put in your reset! ❤

I love a good “what the heck is this thing,” and my curiosity gets the best of me but I seem to have good research skills and I found the wood & black wire wall hanging thing (toward the beginning of your video.) The one I found online had a maker’s tag on it - it’s a “Vintage look wall coat rack” from Chehoma in Belgium and can be seen on their website now. Thanks for a fun video!

Good pass on the rocker - they are a tough sell for me too. I do well with the native sandpainings so those would have been in my cart. Judicious restraint on the Marcrest daisy dot to get only the pitchers. I like it too but not that fast of a seller even in the $15-$20 range for serving pieces.

The V on that "vase" stands for vinegar. It's a cruet! Probably missing its stopper.

Those aren't Charmin babies. In the 1960's it was a promotion from Northern Toilet Paper, you mailed in for them. The mold is for cup cakes. They served them at Bridge parties back in the 50's and 60's. The 'vase' with the V is not a vase, it's a Vinegar curet and is missing the lid. That small wreath is a candle wreath, it's sits flat on the table with a round pillar candle in the middle.
