I keep my axolotl with fancy cardinia shrimps . They do fine together . Some do get eaten but not a high number. My axolotl is a slow poke and shrimps reproduce a lot so it’ll works out

I keep cherry shrimp with my axie she will definitely eat some but the smart ones tend to live longer lol. One managed to survive a few months without being eaten. Though for anyone looking to keep cherries or rather any invertebrates with your axie house the main colony in a separate tank that way you can have an unlimited amount of shrimp to give to your axie when they eat the ones already in the tank.

I keep cherry shrimps with my axolotls (because it was a different tank before and couldnt get all shrimps out lol) but it works really well for me .. they don't seem to care for the axolotls and they are waaaaay faster to actually getting eaten😂 Lots of people say axolotls are predators etc. but mine are really lazy😂😂 ofc different personalities exist ... also I have 2 axolotls and they really seem to like each others company so I would rather suggest 2 ones instead of fish (although they should be around the same size cuz as u said they like to eat eachother lol 😂 Nice video keep up the videos with the axolotls I really like seeing mochi 🥰

I have a 100 gallon heavily planted tank with sump system (68 degrees) and 3 axolotl, 2 hill stream loaches, 5 kuhli loaches (I know it is supposedly a bit too cold for them but they are happy and fine), a dozen or so white cloud minnows (they reproduce as fast as they get picked off almost perfectly), 4 (2 normal, 2 albino) bristlenose pleco and some ghost shrimp that live and breed in the sump and find there way into the tank and a handful of big mystery snails and 2 angel fish (I know it is too cold but i don’t have a tank for them). It has been going on 2 years now and other than the white clouds and shrimp getting picked off here and there everyone gets along great I have never had not a single issue. The angelfish were given to me by a friend and I know it is not ideal for them but is going on 2 months and they seem perfectly fine so far, and the alternative was for him to flush them. I just wanted to put my story here as I read so many horror stories about cohabitation and I think it is way over blown. I’m no expert so take this with grain of salt and this is my first aquarium but for almost 20 years I have been experimenting with cohabing different species of frogs and lizards that the internet would tell you not to and I’ve never had a problem with it so I felt pretty confident I could pull the fish off with the axolotl. I kept a very close eye on them for few weeks and only intro new species every couple months. I also tried Cory catfish and guppies but the lotls ate all the guppies the first night and killed all the Cory’s (without eating for some reason) in a few days.

I just recently got an axolotl from this exotic pet store near my house! and his name is Neptune! and thank you sm you have really helped me learn a lot about them so I can take care of one! and btw neptune is a GFP but dont worry he was born that way:)and he also looks a LOT like your axolotl! he is a Lucy:) and he has freckles on his face! and he LOVES to nip my fingers but honestly I like when he does that.... its SOOO cute! and he lives a normal axolotl life😉😺 and he has a 55 long gal tank and is still young so he lives alone. :D

@@TheTurtleGirlI has question for my turtle umi she is very small I have some KZbin shorts about her and I was wondering if it’s ok if I keep on the double uvb and heat light on for 8 hours because I wake up and leave for school at 6:30 then come back at around 2:50 then I turn it on because I’m afraid if I leave it on when I come back from school it would be to long of hours and hurt her I also work on some days so I’m not home enough to manage the lights

Hey ! I would like to ask if a 55 gallon tank with a large no water area on top of the tank ( with basking lights ) with no filter ( I do regular water changes every 2 days ,I also feed my turtles in a different tank during feeding time cause they are messy eaters ) is an OK environment for two male southern painted turtles . my turtles are big and they get excited and run down the ramp and slam the glass on side of tank , this has even shook the tank made little scratches on tank glass and blew up the heat lamp and glass fell into the tank , guess your turtles are super relaxed ,

If the gravel can fit in their mouth the turtle might have eaten a piece of gravel.

Late reply, but gravel should be avoided. If it’s small enough for them to swallow it, it can cause impaction.

Guys i need help, i cant get my turtle to eat in a separate container (as most turtle keepers do), he just won’t eat. He will look at the food and then get right back to trying to escape, he won’t eat in there at all. I had a large container and got an even bigger one and that didn’t work. He used to eat in the container as a hatchling but won’t now. He will only eat in the tank which dirties it up very badly And is messing up my live plants. It just makes such a mess. And even in the tank he is barely interested in the food,Im scared, should i take him to the vet? What do i do?

No. Mudskippers have spiny fins and also have drastically different requirements and habitats than axolotls. Axolotls are best kept in a species-only tank, by themselves, or with nano shrimp. Every other animal has the risk of hurting them.
