Can you pleaaase help me? My turtle vomites two time in the past three days! He opens and closes his mouth in water and a lot of smashed food comes out of his mouth. This happens normally 30 mind 1hour after he took his food. Also he poops in short time after vomiting. He hasn't done this in his while life. He is 2 years old. I haven't had changed the kind of his food recently and I am sure they are not out of date. And normally when he has food more than normal he just poops. He has never vomited. Pleeeae help me. Any tips is useful.

For the hang on tank filter, I just add a clear tube to extend the intake all the way to the opposite end of the tank. These tubes are cheap and comes in all sizes, can be bought at Home Depot or Lowes.

my turtle just died today. Its hitting my so hard, I had him for around 10 years. I made sure to clean his tank and feed him good and everything I could do. Im pretty sure he got a respitory infection and my family doesn't have the money for a vet. I just made sure to try and keep his tank warm and I checked on him everyday. This morning he was okay but when I checked on him this evening he was at the bottom and upside down. Im so sad but glad he was with me for that while. I basically grew up with him. Ill miss you spike and all the time I spent with you.

Gosh, thank you alot!! I'm a child, and i really wanted an axolotl. My mom thinks i'm not really responsible so she never gets me a pet. I somehow convinced her to get me an axolotl, and we hardly found one in my country. I am in Turkey right now, and while i was, the axolotl was bought to my grandmother's house. She takes care of him while i'm away, and i'm coming back to my home tomorrow. I'll take care of the axolotl from that day, and i've been going crazy about how i need to care about him. At around 6.30 you advised against using Lucky Bamboo because of potential toxicity. My question is, have you ever actually encountered documented cases of turtles succumbing to Lucky Bamboo poisoning? I've also seen many toxicity precautions in forums being discussed but have not found substantial reports of actual proven turtle demise from eating lucky bamboo. So are the risks perhaps overblown?

I got a gecko from a local pet store, it was completely comfortable around humans right from the start, and had no problem being held, it's good to know that the pet store likely takes good care of their animals

I had goldfish bigger than my turtle and he one day I guess hit puberty and ripped their fins off and one drowned, had to put the other ones in the other fish tanks to cute, now I have a goldfish tank and both my turtles live alone. My newer snapper had a little microbiome going on now

Someone gave me a turtle and I’m not sure what species it is. It’s slightly smaller than an adult slider, but a bit larger than the musk turtle you have there. It looks kind of like the musk turtle in that it is gray with slightly darker large spots on its carapace. I think he’s a male. I also have a female slider in the same small pond. The slider overwinters usually going under a big rock underwater and she will stay there for a couple of months until the water starts warming up. The new, unidentified turtle was previously kept inside over the winter. Is it reasonable to assume the new guy will adjust to the cold (we never get below around 40ºF) and hibernate like the slider or do I need to bring him inside?

My turtle has always basked. We went on vacation and she hasn’t basked since we came back. We left her everything the same and she was fed same (kids know the routine) and water changes nothing changed. She seems fine not like sick or hurt she is about 16 yrs old so this is sudden change to us ?
