You should really switch out when your pitcher gets tired. That's what I do.

Yes I know. But I don't want to use too many pitchers especially ones that could be worse than others. I pretty much switch out when serious threats by the other team get going. Another thing is I think it's stupid to have this mechanic where the pitcher gets tired with even just a few pitches and induces groundouts or flyouts to QUICKLY end innings. Overall a pitcher should be tired only if they give up too many runs or if the pitch count goes way up. I just think they're "tired" of not getting strikeouts.
