Could have put King Boo in the fifth slot as the backup cleanup hitter, just in case Petey gets put out or something. But I guess it's also good to have a cleanup hitter in the eighth in case bases get loaded again (which would be awesome but very rare).

how do you get your mii to have chemistry with other players

Have their colour match with the colour of another player. For example, a red Mii will have good chemistry with Mario, Shy Guy, Paratroopa, Baby Mario, etc.

Well... As I was doing all ballparks in exhibition mode both day and night time, I wanted to make sure I played "for" and "against" each captain. Birdo was one I didn't select yet to that point. Hope that clears things up for you.
