Sis, this is lovely and maybe a bit tricky for my machine sewing skills right now. You can’t imagine how many leather bags I own that I can’t use anyone because if the weight it puts in my spine. I used to carry the leather bags and the weight of them made me stopped using them too. you can do this if you hand stitch with basting stitch then machine after. keep practice on straight line Love to help you anyway I can Sis Love you Vivian
