I do not like Clara, she is very bland as a character trying to be that tough clever girl. I don't want to see a tough clever girl, I want to see a companion with emotional depth and intelligence that knows how to make The Doctor think about his decisions and to be their own character. Clara just doesn't do that and while she isn't bad I really don't think she can really live up to some of the other companions The Doctor has traveled with. Don't worry this isn't me being butthurt about the Ponds.

Faruk Akkaya Neither did I, she was always trying to impress The Doctor and try and be clever, just like Clara. Clara is just stereotypically written as the "Clever girl" side-kick, and so was Martha to some extent.
