I appreciate the hard work and the amount of time that you put into these videos.

I like seeing how fish react to bait. Thanks.

pretty good vid .. like a bloke said white can work well or not at all. depending on time of the year i normally find, white good before spawning,and more natural after, and by the look of these fish they had already spawned , as they showed bit of ware and tare.

At the end of the video I could see the look of disgust on the carps face as it sampled the white ones !!

like any test, we can speculate but, as the man said store bought are always a good bet, thousands and thousands are spent in manufacture these, it is more about what has bin and is being used at any time on any one lake, however, my first comment, still holds true, a bright bait unnatural looking bait (washed out been very different, FISH SEE IN SHADES) will always fish better before spawning.

Take it from me ....I've fished for carp for over 40 years . Carp do not like passing over a patch of white . A single bait is different. Its a natural survival thing from when they were growing ( prey ) and are easily seen by predators from above .

Would be interesting to see a comparison of a proper homemade vs shop bought, both a similar colour.

the video was about seeing what the carp prefer! shop boilies or (his) home made boilies! it was a test! you're comment suggests that he did something wrong!
@bumpyjason12 жыл бұрын
good video! i don't think colour had anything to do with because white/washed out baits work well! they just weren't as attractive as the major manufacturers boilies! those white boilies probably got eaten in the end anyway but obviously preferred the others first.
@TheUnderwatersecrets12 жыл бұрын
Yes, the fish did eat white ones in the end. they were not there in the morning

I know this is an older upload but thought ide comment. I've watched all the Korda underwater carp fishing cd's and I think the manufactured baits got eaten 1st due to the way the fish were coming in from that direction. As you can see they were eating the ones you produced but they could of crushed them and Gill feeded them out all depending on if they liked them through your ingredients? Carp fishing in match fishing includes using alot of sweetcorn in the summer but they don't eat the skins and last week I used 16 tins along with 2 bags of 6 ml pellets but fished paste. Good clear images buddy. 👍

Now this has me wondering if the Carp dont like the colour white...and i bought some white coloured sticky goo yesterday called butter corn by Korda, does sound like its the stuff, but its white in colour so i'll have to wait and see but the key difference is that this lets off a scent and a sort of smoke like trail which apparently sends the Carp into a frenzy...have anyone tried using these? i plan to squirt this goo on the 2mm pellets on my method feeder before casting out (if and when the bites go funny), will try on Monday.

I just made boilies for the first time today by using an online recipe. They turned out well but I have one question: are boilies supposed to be hard or sort of doughy?
@TheUnderwatersecrets9 жыл бұрын
BunkerBlog Hard, not doughy. How long did you boil them for?
@BunkerBlog9 жыл бұрын
David Edwards Couple minutes, maybe 3-4. I just waited until they began to float.
@TheUnderwatersecrets9 жыл бұрын
BunkerBlog till they floated, perfect. They should be hard enough to throw against a wall and not lose shape, But soft enough to split when pressed hard between finger and thumb.
@BunkerBlog9 жыл бұрын
David Edwards Yup. Exact description.

Maybe it is just the colour of your baits that makes them wary at first.
@declancoppock33258 жыл бұрын
Would have been a better/more fair experiment if the baits were the same colour. Interesting watch though 👍🏻

I have no idea what a boilie is, have you ever tried a piece of corn tortilla?
@TheUnderwatersecrets12 жыл бұрын
Mainline Fusion, but I am not here to advertise boilies. I would assume that any shop bait would behave the same.
@Robnap889 жыл бұрын
Perhaps it was only the white color that put em favorably on brown?
@HARDYSFISHINGADVENTURES8 жыл бұрын
+Beaker Bob maybe the brown was the source and alot of anglers use it and where keyed in on the scent signals
@MrSerella8 жыл бұрын
i think the white spooked them a little, but the one that did really have a go at them didnt get much in the way of pick up. I noticed the other baits were picked up and moved around a lot on the bed. the white did not. I would suspect you would need to decrease the density to make this a fairer comparison. I think if the white boilies moves about more freely as the source did then you would have seen a much different result.

I was more aware of what some bad state the fish were in, the majority of them had injuries all over their body.

wild and unmanaged, but the fish are fished from all year round and spook off boilies...

@machammer65110 жыл бұрын
Dosent prove or disprove anything really, you would need to repeat this at least 10 plus times to get an average response from the carp. Carp are caught on allsorts of strange baits, foam rubber bits of plastic etc even spooky fish get caught on them. I think a little more research is needed before your claim that shop boughts perform better than homemades. Also the baits need to be the same colour as each other or you can only say they spooked on the color white.
