You've reminded me how important self care is to my mental health. Also to journal for myself, not worry about perfection and to just have inner peace while creating. I so love how u create with self talk. Reminding self how blessed I am. It's OK to journal my dreams and hopes for the future and, giving thanks for what we have, to live in the present. I'm so thankful for you and how u share ur life, good and not so good, with us. Be blessed.

Oh Wendy, I don't comment often but today I have to. This really brought me joy ! Seeing you playing, adding, thinking and hearing the joy in your voice, really touched my heart. I am finally doing a "free style" journal as I call it. I have been hand binding and creating journals for about 9 years now, but they've always had a theme. Most have been for gifts and some for sale. I started booking binding, coptic stitch etc, after the death of my husband. I live with "physical challenges " but found this to be something I can do. This year has been challenging as a new health issue has come. About a month ago I was looking at scraps around my desk and just put a "freestyle" junk journal together. It is already bringing me such joy. No theme, just whatever brings me joy that day. It's been so freeing. Now you've given me some great ideas for preparing for 2022 !! Thank you dear one for just being you !! Much love from Kansas USA

Shine Bright! You’ll likely not see this message, Wendy, as this video is at least a year old by now. That’s alright. I’m just here to sprinkle some fairy dust on your bright and shining dreams, to keep you inspired and feeling peaceful, even on the rough days. Thank you for sharing your art, your journey, and your vulnerabilities. I greatly appreciate your authenticity and transparency. I’ve been binge-watching your channel since I found you about a week ago, and have to say that you’ve helped me to return to my love of making art, and nurturing that love as I nurture myself in the process. Thank you for that. I am an artist too, although I am a beginner and am teaching myself art skills. You have introduced me to Art Journaling - I’ve doodled a bit in my journals, but haven’t ever painted or collages any of the other things you do to yours, and I am inspired to try embellishing my writing with my art in the same book - so far, so good. Brightest Blessings to you and James. I wish you all good things. Cheers! ☕️ 🫖 ☕️

Winter is often a difficult season for me because I am prone to depression during the dark, short days. As the past couple of weeks have unfolded, I’ve found it harder to feel optimistic and have struggled to do my annual review, something I usually enjoy quite a lot. When you asked what helps me head into the New Year with joy in my heart, I had to think a while. Making art is my full-time job so sometimes I lose sight of how much pleasure and joy that creativity gives me. As I move into 2022, I want to make sure I am taking time to be playful artistically and allow myself the delight that drawing and painting give me. Thank you so much, Wendy, for sharing your light and your beautiful spirit with us all so generously! With love from Oregon! - Tara Kate

I need to try journalling in this way. I have a journal of sorts, purely functional, comprising of lists and deadlines. I don't have a sketchbook either. I've never been one for preliminary drawings, but sometimes an idea comes and I'll draw it in my journal. Or I'll write a little rant or an expression of despair. I've a bit (alot!) Of a block in creating, in that everything I create artistically, is immediate, intuitive and 'done'. And then they sell. I'm not prolific or consistent in my artwork, so every creation can't be replicated from sketched ideas. Which says alot: there's no flow, I'm too deliberate. Thanks, Wendy. You're marvellous. A great teacher. I will definitely start art journalling. I think I could get alot out of it,creatively and spiritually. As you say, it's healing. I recognise that. I'm just afraid of missing putting it on canvas. Which is irrational.

Dear Wendy I think you like a "sense of mystery or surprise". This is why I love little tins, and I used to collect pop up books, as it brings that childhood joy back to the now. I think this is why you love your pockets in your journal! "Touch" for you is obviously important, so perhaps a variety of cloth/fabric/papers? As for your little veggie garden, try container gardening or buy a cheap little green house. Seedlings in a small seed house, germinate easily, buy a cheap USB grow light, that you can move the two lights on a bendy hose type thing. I grow my own oyster mushrooms, so easy to do, with recycling used for the substrate grow material. It is really easy to start with some 50 cent seedlings that look a bit "how-you-are-going" as we say here, and these often take well. My trick is to use herbs or the green part of weeds to deter pests when seedlings need the extra help. In kindred spirit Merry Christmas, happy holidays, and an easing into the new year, slowly. time for yourself, time with family, time with friends, and time with James! Eliza Australia 5:55pm 18th December 2021 xx

I love listening to you Wendy. You are so inspirational. I have just started journalling thoughts and feelings, mainly about my childhood trauma of being bullied at school (I'm now 66yo), and how it lead me to an eating disorder. Writing is difficult for me, as I have severe arthritis in my hands, so I've been using my Word, and I found that I can get thoughts out much quicker, and I typed out about 3-4 pages the other night. I have alot of understanding regarding my issues with food, and the why's etc. However, I didn't realise how deep my hurt still was, because I cried as I was typing. I'm telling you this, because it is down to watching this and your previous youtubes, about journalling, and how it helps you, that I decided to start. So, for this, I thank you so very much. We often don't know how much of an impact we can have on other's lives, and you have made a huge impact on my getting deeper into my heart, and being vulnerable and authentic and real, and crying in a way that I have never really before. It's not hard out bawling. It is a slow dripping of tears rolling down my cheeks. I know this to be my healing. You are such a blessing Wendy.xx

So happy to catch this as it comes up! It’s very calming and I like the gypsy’s honesty that some days suck. Some years suck.

Totally agree with you about the power of journalling. I have been writing mine for years but since I started watching you I’ve been sticking all sorts of bits and pieces in it as well! Xx

I think I'm going to use what you wrote about setting intentions...I made a life changing decision very recently and I'm feeling really apprehensive about it...I need to be reminded that my future will be full of bright things and endless possibilities! Thank you for the words Wendy xx

Thank you for these creative journaling vids… I’ve always done written journals but tried a small autumn creative journal page and loved it! So I’m going to make a journal for 2022. Your inspiration is wonderful 😊 x

I love watching your videos, they are inspiring and very relaxing. As a person who has been journaling for years first as a cheap form of therapy than as a way to hear/read my other voice. The one that had gotten lost in day-to-day living and all the crazy foolishness that is going on in the world. Thank you for being you and sharing your calm with the rest of us. BLESS YOU, AND YOU ARE A BLESSING.

Thank you Wendy. Love your new hand made journal 💕. I haven't done any journaling fir a while now but I am starting to feel inspired to get starting again. Big Thank you🤗. I remember that I helped my youngest son on a history project. I used a little disolved coffee granules and an old sponge to create a distressed look. It came out OK, smelt lovely and cheep. 👍. Love to you and all the Unexpected Community ❤
