You can not keep chickens penned up like that 24 - 7, they need room to run, look for bugs, and just be chickens. Not held prisoner just to give you eggs. Build a big closed in pen or barn or something where they can get exercise and feel free. On the closed in pen put a top on it to keep other animals out, put a door on it for you to get in and out. Make them a little building with nest boxes to go into at night, then lock them in there at night for safety, and let them out the next morning. Would you like to be treated like that?
